When I flush my mascerating toilet, the tank

I assume you are referring to the holding tank and not the pump case.
The bowl float system on the couple SaniPlus toilets I have seen are similar to standard toilets. This will be a plastic float that slides up and down the water inlet tube. It will be attached to a shut off lever at the top of the tube by a metal rod. The float and rod are attached to each other by a "V" shaped clip. To adjust the shut off level you need to slide this clip up/down the rod.
If you remove the top of the tank and flush you should be able to see this working when flushing. Try shutting off the water flow by moving the shut off lever by hand. Use the water shut off at the inlet line leading into the tank to start and stop the water before it over flows if the lever does not work.
If the lever does not stop the flow then you have a problem with the water inlet mechanism and it may need to be replaced.
If your inlet mechanism is different from what I described please respond back with the model number of your SaniPlus.
Hope this helps.

Hi i have a saniplus macerator unit hums but

sounds like an obstructed unit - you would need to remove the impeller cover at the base to check the pump - i'm assuming youve already checked the blade unit at the top (be careful here - i use a screwdriver - not my finger) could be that a simple cleanup and acid descale would be all thats needed. try this first then start looking deeper.Humming indicates motor is ok - but dont let it run continuosly - you dont want to burn out a good motor.

Hi,
The pump has either gone bad or it is siezed up...you can try to unplug the pum and let it sit for a few hours then plug it back in... sometimes if you jog it on and off a few times you can get tiit to break loose and work again...if not you will have to take it out and replace the pump.

Pump cycles often

The following are the possible problems and solutions:
  1. The tank flapper (Flush Valve) leaking allowing water into bowl. Make sure flapper is fully seated. If flapper is fully seated and still is leaking replace flapper.
  2. Faulty Non-Return Check Valve, water leaking back into Macerator. Clean and Inspect check valve replace if after clean water still flows back into Macerator.
I hope this answers your question and gives you a few more places to look. Please rate the answer on it's helpfulness. Good Luck and have a great day. Jeff

Soak it in descaler and cold water for 24hrs then try again (may take 3-4 attempts) or remove pump/motor from the tank, find oval black rubber membrane, should be able to hear click of switch underneath when membrane is pressed, new membrane required if it is not flexable.

Is it okay to run a sink for a kitchenette through

It will be fine. The soap and hot water will keep the grease from congealing. Even if it does, the solids from the toilet and the rpm of the macerator will keep it pretty darn clean. I did one for a rental apartment 10 years ago and have no issues at all.
