Saniflo SaniPlus-Round SaniPlus Macerator Toilet with Round Bowl - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Item in saniflo toilet
Hi,
Yes, depending upon which model you have it *may* be fairly easy. My son decided to put a whole load of 'kando's' down ours!
*** STEP 1 ... DISCONNECT THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY!!!! ***
You'll need to drain the main toilet bowl of water and remove the toilet bowl away from the sanoflo. This may require that you also empty the cistern and stop the water from entering it (do you have an inline valve to the cistern supply pipe?)
When you have emptied the water and removed the toilet bowl there should be a large Jubilee clip attaching the saniflow to the WC waste outlet. Loosten this and remove it so you can see into the saniflo where the WC waste goes.
You should be able to see the object and reach it with your hands. I would suggest wearing some rubber gloves to protect your hands from getting gunk in cuts etc.
If you cannot get to the object, you'll need to empty out the other pipes to the Saniflo and remove the unit. When you have done this you'll need a star driver to open up the unit and get to the object inside. I woudl suggest that since most of the saniflo range have an internal grille to stop objects such as this actually hitting the macerator that you should be able to reach it just by disconnecting the WC waste connection
Hope this helps .. good luck

The unit will not stop running after you flush or
OK, so it sounds like the float valve is getting stuck with the accumulated gunk from 12 years!
If you are comfortable with it, to clean:
1. Turn off the electricity to the unit (should be on a fused spur)
2. Disconnect the pipes (inlet and discharge) - you may get a bit of surplus water coming out so have some sponges and a bucket ready.
3. Disconnect the wiring and take the unit out
4. I clean my Saniflo's outside with warm bleach water ..
- Wear rubber gloves to keep germs out of any cuts you may have / get on your hands
- Put the elextrical cable in a taped up plastic food bag or similar to keep dry
- undo the 'star screws'
- Flip up the plastic retaining tabs with a flat blade screwdriver and gently ease the lid up.
- I put bleach and warm water in, leave it for a while (30 mins) and then swish it around and empty out into an outside drain etc
- If you want to use an old toothbrush to get into the areas by the float switch and under the motor it does help. I also used a hosepipe in the past which did the trick.
- Also pay attention to the inlet port and the actual pipes under your sink for gunk
put it back together, aligning the seal and plastic clips should just pop on (may need a firm push). Do up star screws and you are ready to reconnect the pipes and electrics.
I use some tissue paper to check for any leaks around the pipes just to be sure!
Good Luck, let me know if you need any additional help

Saniflow keeps on macerating after flushing
Sounds like a stuck float switch .. probably due to gunk inside the macerator. You'll need to empty all of the water out of the WC, cisterm, isolate the electricity and disconnect the saniflo (i.e. take out WC and cistern), open up the saniflo and give it a good clean
Good luck

Makes a gurgling sound every 15 minutes
my guess is that it needs a flapper,...it leaks down and then the tank has to be filled again up to it's specified level. common problem with all toilets. cracklin joe

How do I get the lid back on the toilet?
lightly grease the rubber seal first this will help you slide it into position thats the hard bit now you can fit the lid remenbering to tighten corner to corner so that you get an even pull down

My saniplus macerator has stopped working. The
does it make any noise? the valve switch may no be working. if you hear the motor buzzing but not working, something is jammed in there. either way, be ready to get your hands dirty.

Water leaking out of breather
I have a question, I have a saniplus no problems hooking it up filled the tank and then flushed it..On the discharge end I had a small about of water puddling up at the pressed in rubber fitting. Every clamp was tight not sure what the reason is any ideas. I thought about silcone around the rubbber seal between the lid.

Helicopter starting :)
could be the thermal trip on the motor. Suggest you remove the lid and clean out any buildups inside. check for for a jam, around the blades like a tampon. Careful - they are very sharp!

The small pump runns all the time We need to
Sounds like the float is stuck up. Thump the holding tank a couple of times with your hand to see if it wiggles loose. May have to open it up to see. If a tampon was put in the toilet it could be causing this problem.

How do we keep the toilet clean. I understand that
Most grocery stores sell "pumice stone" this is a solid bar about 1" x 1" x 6" long. It is literally lava rock cut to this dimension. You use this to scrub the stains off the porcelin. Have used one for years, never hurt the toilet.
