might need to format the flash drive to the phillips dvd player. make sure you back up whats on the flash drive first. plug into dvd and format it. the player should ask you if you want to format flash drive. because when you format the flash drive it will erase all data on it. then reload the data back on the flash drive. try again

Many DVD players exhibit these systems when they are overheated, make sure that it is not covered to the point that it is not getting air to cool with, IE if you have the TV or a cable box on it, it may be blacking to many of the air vents on top, or the other unit on it may be producing to much heat, which is being transferred to the DVD player, causing it to overheat.

Converting the player to multi-region (or technically region 0) so that it can play DVDs from anywhere in the world is simple. Just download a file, burn it to a CD, insert into the DVD player and pick the region you want from the on screen menu that comes up. Ok, this is a common problem you see that Video/DVD was recorded with a particular set of CODEC's, now, some CODEC's work in a lot of machines, but NOT in others, sometimes you can "Upgrade" your "Firmware" which, basically, Adds CODECS to the DVD players memory, so it will recognize it and play, if it doesn't have the CODEC it simply will use a "Generic" CODEC, now that will work, however it will NOT have all the features, such as aspect ratio, screen size etc, etc. It will just play in the "Commonest" format, which is Full Screen. So that is your "problem" well not really a problem so much as the lack of a "Feature" as they say.. Check, if indeed there are any Firmware upgrades. You also need to discover what CODEC's that particular DVD, that will not co-operate, and find out what it is encoded in, and ensure that you do not get that format again..if you cannot get a CODEC upgrade?

If it plays other disc fine, then take a alcohol wipe or rubbing alcohol and cotton ball and gently wipe the dis in a circle pattern. Do not go crosswise but go along with the lines. Then let it air dry for 10 minutes and try it again.

This is the Power Board for it. check those 6 electrolytic Capacitors on the right for bulging or splitting. Don't buy it blindly, it's a guess.
