Its just a wear in the ozone plastic its normal after continued use

I have a .pdf of the manual I can send you. I just run mine throught the dishwasher by themselves. The manual says to do that or hand wash them in the sink. Just make sure they are thoroughly dry before putting them back in.

If I cannot find the replacemnt part for the motor,we cannot remove the housing over the fan, looks like planned obsolesence to us! I will have 2 UV bulb replacements I just ordered from Brookstone for 20 each, will sell these to whomever would like them. KMWS

I cleaned the filters as well earlier and the red filter light still blincked to clean the filters. Then I pushed the power button for about 10 seconds continously and then turned it on and the light turned off.

make sure the filter is seated in the unit correctly there is a right and wrong way and unless the connection is made it won't start

There is significant evidence to suggest that ionizers may do more harm than good.  All, to a greater or lesser extent, emit ozone which is a pollutant and hazardous to health.  Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent, and has the potential to damage any organic matter (especially your lungs) that it comes in to contact with.
Writing as a qualified chemist and biologist, I would not want to be in the same house as one of these, let alone the same room. Not just this particular model, but any of them.
