ASUS WL-330GE 802.11b/g Wireless Access Point Questions & Answers
How to set up the wl-330ge as a repeater?
What the instructions don't clearly explain is you must plug the WL-330gE into a device that has both a wireless connection and an active ethernet port. If the ethrnet port is active you should see two small lights on either side of the ethernet port on your device after the .WL-330gE is plugged in Once that's done you can run the detection software and it should find the device. Select configure and a browser will open and you'll be taken to the ASUS configuration website. Log in using the user name and password in the startup guide. The configuration page my open up in Chinese language, if so select the drop down at the upper right corner of the screen and pick the first item in the list which is English. Select the tab which matches the configuration you need and follow the instructions. Hope this helps.

Hello, I am Gabi from
Hi,
Are you sure that is your WL-330's ip address? If you are, I suggest you reset it then try to configure it again. You can reset it through the reset pin hole. Press and hold it for 15-20 sec. Then try accessing the setup page again using the default.
Hope it works for you.
I have set up this device as an AP and connected
Search in google about how to set up a DHCP server for your router and clone the modem's MAC address, most routers have this option, the thing is some ISPs limit the use of internet to only one machine, by cloning the modem's MAC address in your router you'll make the ISP believe there's only one machine connected to the Internet.
By setting up a DHCP server in your router you'll use only one IP to connect all machines using a private network, that should solve your problems.
Try both alternatives, and see which one works.
Please check the legal limitations of this procedure for your country or state and have a nice day! ;)
Dear sirs, I need to
You can reset all settings to their factory defaults manually by pushing the "Reset" button of the ASUS 802.11g AP while it is ON. Push the "Reset" button with a pen or a paper clip for about 5 seconds or until the power LED starts blinking.
Default
IP address: 192.168.1.220
username: admin
password: admin
I lost my password for
reset it. user/pass will be admin/admin. Note it will also reset the IP address so accessing the login will require additional adjustments.
Cannot access 192.168.1.220 in web
If you have your asus WL-330GE connected to a router and you are trying to access it from another pc connected to the router...it will not work. You need to connect directly to the asus unit.
Then...
1)You will need to configure your computer to talk to it by changing the TCP/IPv4 under your LAN connection settings> Properties to read Manual IP of 192.168.1.10 if reset or 192.168.40.10 if not reset. then...
2) type 192.168.1.220 if you have reset it. Or 192.168.40.1 if it is not reset.
default user/pass is admin/admin for a reset unit.
How do i install my asus wireless adapter to work
You need to set it up on a computer first.
And of course you have to already have a Wireless Router connected to your DSL/Cable modem.
I did my setup on a Mac so there are quite a few more steps to go through on a Window's machine then I had to do but just use the manual as it's set up for a Window's anyway.
You might just try skipping all the installs first and just try connecting to the ASUS with the IP number first via a web browser and see what happens.
When you finally make it into the ASUS, pick "Ethernet Adapter" mode.
Basically just set it up as if you were using the ASUS to connect to the internet on the computer.
When you can use the internet normally on the computer via the ASUS then just unplug the ethernet cord from the computer and just plug it into the X-Box. Then all you do is go into the network settings on the X-Box to set it up as a LAN/cable or "what ever" connection NOT wireless. The X-Box should see it as a LAN because you are using the Ethernet port.
I haven't done it on the X-Box but I did set it up that way on my BlueRay disk player and it works fine.
Nice thing about this ASUS is you can use the USB port on the X-Box to power the router INSTEAD of the power cord so every time you turn the X-Box off the router should turn off. (if you don't have an external cooling fan on the X-Box using it) Another good thing is you can actually use a longer Ethernet cable to get the ASUS closer to the main router (near a power outlet of course).
This is for the WL-330gE

I have the Asus WL-330gE

Your user manual above.
I think you will have to turn DHCP OFF, in the "Adapter" AP. There should be only ONE DHCP Server, and this usually this is the Router, connected to the Internet via the inbuilt modem.
So you should set the "Master" WiFi Modem/Router, as DHCP Server. The other, MUST have DHCP set to OFF as well.
Also don't forget to turn OFF DHCP in services in the PC itself too.
Also remember that when you connect up, with a USB unit, usually by default, it uses the 10.0.0.0 network, However everything else uses 192.168.0.0 base network, this can screw things up too. make sure everyone is on the same network address.
Problem with Asus WL-330gE configuring page
Did you connect the device to your PC using the ethernet connector and power it up using either the USB or power adaptor? Those two cables have to be connected between the ASUS and your PC before you try to access the admin page via your browser.
How to initially configure the access point
Should work right out of the box. Are you asking what type security you should set up?
There is password security, turn off the broadcast security, MAC address security and others.
May I suggest Network Magic to help you set up and maintain your network.
I use the paid pro version and love it.
Get it free - google Network Magic
How do I enhance my Asus PadFone X mini speaker loudness?
Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. There is a free version. but to get all the effects you have to upgrade to the paid. If audio is important to you, check it out.
