Hi, to rest the Yamaha Rx-V663 to factory settings, go to page 119 of the user manual on this LINK....

Make sure none of the buttons are stuck in. One button being stuck may make all the others not work.

Bad DSP chip. The only other possibility is if you have the "Direct" on. On the front of the receiver it's a small button. Also make sure your "Speaker Select" A/B is "on" You will see it on the display, it's also a small button on the front of the receiver. If all this is correct and you still have no audio, it's a bad DSP chip. Not worth repair, it's 400-500 repair. Not very common in a Yamaha RX-V series, but I have seen it. I'm a Yamaha Dealer. Hey! Make shure your amp and blu-ray player output and input signals are set to "bitsteam" and you are useing HDMI and optical connections. I hooked up my Onkyo tx sr 506 integrated amp to a Samsung BD 1400 player and everthing worked perfectly right out of the box. Perhaps your amp can"t decode DTS HD Master or your blue ray doesn't support it although i think a firmware upgrade may accomplish this. Put on The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian which will DEFAULT to DTS HD MASTER 7.1 and see if it works. It's an excellent source to test your system. Picture and audio recieved 5 stars from Home Theatre magaziene and like i said, either your amp, or player doesn't support it or your interconnects are keeping it from coming thru. HDMI and OPTICAL connects and check your set up for "bitstream" Remember what Todd Rundgren allways said,"Everything will work if you just let it!"

The sub channel will be switched off. You need to find the speaker settings, locate the sub channel settings and switch it on.

The error code that you listed indicates that the unit is shutting down due to the temp sensor triggering a fault. Most likely, there is bad connections on the temp sensor itself that will need to be resoldered.

once you set the audio program for an input, it should stay set even if you power the unit down. As far as locking that program so that it cannot be changed - no there isn't a way to do that.

First of all you should never indicate speakers as Large unless they can produce below 20Hz (which is very low), otherwise always set your speakers to Small.

Second, did you also indicate in teh setupmenu that you have a subwoofer? Because if all speakers are set to Large some receivers will omit a subwoofer because Large indicates the speakers can reproduce all sounds even below 20Hz.

So walk through your setup menu, say YES when the sub (SFW) is asked for and that should do the trick.

Ironic that this popped up today. I just worked on my dads Yamaha RX-V663 today. Have you tried to see if it works on the other speaker channels. Not sure how you have yours set up or how many speakers are attached, but my dads wouldn't work on channel A, I guess it burned up. I basically just moved the speakers over to the surround sound and channel B and everything worked as usual. Oh, and turned off channel A
