Turn the phone off. Take the battery out then remove your sim card. Before reinstalling the battery hold the power on botton down for about 15 seconds. Replace the sim card then the battery and power the phone on. If this does not fix the problem and you can access the setup menu for the phone restore the setting to factor defaults. If you are able to take out the battery, then do that. Wait for a minimum of 30 seconds, then put it back in. Once you re-install your battery, start the phone up again & it should work normally. It was just "frozen."

IT seems that it is a setting problem. so contact your network operator and ask them to send settings or manually enter your "message service centre number" and restart the phone...

did u get the phone near any moisture or take it in the bathroom while u were taking a shower this is the only logical explination i can think of with the information given the moisture behind the screen could be the cause of this if u can give me more information on what might have happened i could better resolve your question

After going through the manual and talking to an AT&T rep, I found that it is not possible to set your own ringtone as a message alert tone. You can only use your own ringtones for calls and ringer ID's. We're stuck with the 10 pre-loaded rings for the message alerts. :(

Take out the battery....then put it back in. Do not try to turn on the phone yet. Next plug the phone up to charge. Wait until the charging screen appears and then power the phone. Worked for me.....good luck.

Wait does it say emergency mode only? If so this has happened to me many times on this phone.

Turn off the phone and remove the battery. In there will be you should see the SIM card. Pull out the SIM and put it back in. Put back the battery and turn on your phone.

For some reason on these phones the SIM card gets dislodged. When it does the phone won't work because the SIM card is what makes the phone your number etc. All cell phones, that have no service otherwise will be able to call 911. Apparently it is a law, so that is why your phone is on emergency mode. Without the SIM card the phone is a phone without service and will therefore only work in emergency mode.

Personal UnlocK code is a code set by the phone service provider to prevent unauthorised usage of phone's pin number.. There's only one way to get it.. Call your service provider's helpline and they'll help you for sure..

if the phone is supported by a GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile etc.) it should work in europe, just remember the power outlets are different in europe, so you'll need a different kind of charger ;)
