Rinnai 556F Not Exactly and "Energy Saver"...

Raise the thermistor. It is a black rubber probe located on the back of the heater close to the coldest spot in your home, the floor. Raise it a few inches. To do this you will need to unhook it from its holder and open the front of the heater to unravel the extra length of yellow wire.

Rinnai 556 WT gas space heater flashing PF

most modern gas heaters use a code system to tell the operator what the problem is. look for a pattern in the flashing, and then compare that pattern to the literature on the inside of the heaters panel. When you have a diagnosis code, you can follow the appropriate course of action.

Rinnai direct vent heater RHFE

Remove the top panel closest to the wall after you remove filter. Check all the connections for exhaust and air intake. You can remove the air intake pipe (looks like a smaller diameter vacuum cleaner hose but Gray in color) and run the unit with it off of the vent. If unit starts and stays on, the inducer blower is getting weak and will need to be replaced. There is also two small hoses (clear and blue) that may have come off the vent or even cracked or chewed by a mouse. Inspect them for cracks or damage. You may have to take off the right side panel closest to the wall to get to the hoses. Next, remove the many screws that hold the front panel on the heater. Take off the front cover and check to make sure all the hoses are connected and that the inducer fan runs. You can even take a shop vacuum and put it over the center hole on the vent to make sure something is not lodged inside where you can't see it. Yes there is a recall for a gasket that deteriorates over time. It is located at the view port of the flame. Contact Rinnai at (US) 8006219419 for details. Hope this helps.

What size room will the rtnnai RHFE-551FT heat

Judging by it's Btu Output, it should comfortably handle heating up to 300 square feet. This is based on the room having average insulation and average energy efficient measures in place. All houses are different, so what may work outstandingly in one person's home, may only do an average job in another''s.

Rinnia makes a good product, but it's longevity is based on how wall the consumer maintains the product. No heater is maintenance free. They all require at minimum, of annual service. Usually, in the Fall, prior to the heating season.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Cheers!

Code 11 come out from the led. The heater rinnai

A couple of things can cause a Code 11(Ignition Failure): The gas line at the heater is not turned On or not turned on all the way. Also an obstruction in the Direct Vent Termination.

According to the Owner's Manual:
If the appliance fails to ignite, the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, 11, will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. If ignition fails again, then the fault code will remain and another attempt to ignite will occur in 1 hour. The fault code is not stored in the fault code history.

If the flame is extinguished during forced combustion then the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, 11, will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. Forced combustion takes place for about 15 seconds after ignition. After this time, the temperature control logic controls the combustion.

If the flame is extinguished (burner combustion failure) while the temperature control logic is operating the appliance, then the appliance will immediately attempt ignition. No fault code will appear.

If the problem was not either of the 2 listed above, the electronics may need to be reset. You can do this by turning the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the cord from the wall outlet. Leave the unit unplugged for 15 minutes, then plug it back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. The electronics should revert back to the original factory settings. From there you can set them as you like. If the reset attempt fails, a service call by an authorized service technician is the next step.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

# 11 appears when it

Code # 11 indicates an Ignition Failure. According to the Owners Manual you should do the following: Check that gas is turned ON. Check that the vent termination is not blocked. Refer to the Restart Function explanation.

RESTART FUNCTION:

If the appliance fails to ignite, the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, 11, will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. If ignition fails again, then the fault code will remain and another attempt to ignite will occur in 1 hour. The fault code is not stored in the fault code history.

If the flame is extinguished during forced combustion then the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, # 11 will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. Forced combustion takes place for about 15 seconds after ignition. After this time, the temperature control logic controls the combustion.

If the flame is extinguished (burner combustion failure) while the temperature control logic is operating the appliance, then the appliance will immediately attempt ignition. No fault code will appear.

In this problem repeats itself, contact you local Rinnai Authorized dealer/serviceman.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

I cant turn it on

Wish you had more of an explanation but here it goes: Check to make sure the outlet has power to it, make sure the gas is turned on, if the display is blank, there is a fuse on the circuit board that may be bad, if the display works but unit does not fire, press the Economy button and the Up and Down arrows all at the same time and hold for 5 seconds. The display will start showing trouble code numbers, have an assistant write the numbers down as they appear. There may be three or four numbers displayed at the same time. You can always do it again to get the numbers. Once you have them, look in the user manual or post the numbers on fixya and we can tell you where to start looking for problems.
