found the fix for printmaster 18 broderbund pdf saving problems...
1-close all open programs and return to desktop.
2-click START and choose CONTROL PANEL
3-click PRINTER
4-right click on BRODERBUND PDF CREATER, then select PROPERTIES (the broderbund PDF creater properties window will open)
5-click the PORTS tab, then select ADD PORT button. (the printer ports window will open)
6-click NEW PORT, then enter PMPDF in the ENTER A PORT NAME window, then click OK
7-click CLOSE at the PRINTER PORTS window. you will now be looking at the broderbund PDF creater properties window
8-a check mark will be located next to the new PMPDF printer port. click APPLY. the broderbund pdf creator will now be located next to the new port. click OK.
9-exit all windows and restart the computer. once the computer restarts, you can save your project as a pdf file.

The program should give you a choice of Typical Install, Full Install, and Minimum Install. Choose Full Install, however she may still need some of her discs for some of the art since the program may not load all the art anyway.

1. In Tools/Options/General Options, check the box beside "Optimal Printing Resolution".
2. Go to File/Printer Setup/Printer Setup.
3. Under "Name" select Broderbund PDF Converter v2.10d
4. Next, go to File/Professional Printing.
5. Select "Save As PDF".
6. At the next screen, type the name of the PDF file you want to save in "Project Name".
7. Under "PDF Resolution", select 600 dpi.
8. Click on "Save As". In the next window, browse to the folder in which you want to save the file (for example: My Documents).
9. Click on the "Save" button.
10. PrintMaster will save the PDF file to the folder you selected.
11. Open the file in Adobe Acrobat to make sure all the elements and pages are there and that it looks as expected.

Be sure to turn off all running programs when you are downloading and installing. Good luck

If you are trying to open it outside of the printmaster program, you have to change the format of the document or picture to a jpeg and open it in your photo program. You should be able to open it if you have printmaster installed on the computer that you are trying to open it in.

the question was regarding PrintMaster Silver 12, although it was posted in the PrintMaster Platinum 16 forum.

All these type programs can be used ion vista.by simply selecting help/support/ type: old programs
Vista asks to use cd - then it is installed

very much like xp whenthey did it for win 98/95

I DID NOT fix the problem!!!! I use PrintMaster Platinum 18. I'm sorry, but I do not see paying you $10.00 (or any amount) to solve this problem.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to Broderbund Graphics Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE Choose Task Manager That will show all instances of the program being open. You can End Task on ones that look like they shouldn't be open. Put the EXACT message in here https://www.google.com/search?q=Printmaster+18.1+is+running+in+another+program+and+to+close ..

Did print shop 3 work properly in win 7? If so you should never have updated. See all the grief it has caused you? Go back and install the 3.0 version and leave well enough alone Or maybe that program is not compatible at all with your OS.I have mo bo's that will not load XP but will work fine with anything prior to that. Computers are unpredictable and down right ornery at times but we need them so have to play by their rules.
