Programs & applications are not opening.
may be it will the issue with the conflict of windows updates with the norton.. so whats my suggeation is just go ahead and install the latest version of norton antivirus2009,first you have to uninstall the 2008 version from the add/remove programs and install the 2009 version

go to norton security center ( you can double clik at norton side taskbar at your desktop) clik on setting and arrange this to what you want. if it still happen ...uninstall this program using start menu---control panel--add/remove program---norton uninstall
then you mustrestart your pc/notebook then try to reinstall norton using your norton cd...good luck..

Which antivirus you use currently? Is the antivirus contains anti-phishing? I would like to recommend you to use Kaspersky AntiVirus 2009, which it contains 'Anti-Phishing'.

No license file (*.slf) is installed
It is necessary to have a valid license file installed into the program to authorize it for the download of the content updates using Live Update.
It

The license file (*.slf) has expired
It is required to have a current support contract to be authorized to have the most current content updates

Hi! The best antivirus that won't slow down your computer is NOD32 2.7. You can download it in torrents sites. Also free up your startup memory using HIJACKTHIS I'm sure this make your computer clean from viruses. GOOD LUCK

Why is it so hard to down load my new norton cd
For 99.9% of the people it works. What specifically is the error you are getting? You might be better talking to the Norton people if you paid money for their software. I prefer MalwareBytes Premimum especially on a older system.

Did you buy Norton Anti-Virus? If not then someone may have used your account to pay for Norton. I would talk to your bank about getting the funds back. I really do hope you're able to get this problem resolved with your bank, though no one here can really do anything.
