Oven too hot!!

My oven (Whirlpool 30" self cleaning free standing) is about 5 years old. It suddenly started burning everything I try to cook because it is providing too much heat no matter what temp (high or low) I try. My husband tried to figure it out, but to no avail. Any ideas???? Thanks a lot!! Carol

sounds like a bad oven temp sensor, small 3-6 inch, metal probe in upper left corner of inner cavity, 2 screws and the sensor should pull right out, replace you should be fine

How do I use the steam clean self-cleaning oven?

How do I use the steam clean self-cleaning oven?

The SteamClean option spot cleans the oven in 20 minutes and is recommended for cleaning light spills on the bottom of the oven cavity. When used routinely, the SteamClean option reduces the need for frequent self-clean cycle use. To use the SteamClean option, pour 12 ounces (1 1/2 cup) of water into the bottom of the oven cavity, close the oven door and push the SteamClean button. At the end of the cycle, consumers wipe out the bottom of the oven, easily removing oven soils. The steam cleaning option is eco-friendly and does not require frequent use of the self-clean cycle, which can create a strong odor. Read this in a post about the new whirlpool ranges

I had similar difficulty. This worked for me after 45 mins grief.

I got a heavy duty 1cm wide elastic band (length double was about 14-15cm). This is a common size heavy duty elastic band in the UK.

This elastic band is much too long to go around the glass bulb cover so I tied a knot in it so that i had a complete circle of rubber band tightly held around the bulb cover. Then I used a Mole wrench -a kind of large adjustable spanner - to undo the glass bulb cover. It came off easily because the rubber band gave sufficient grip to undo it. It is about 2.5 full turns anticlockwise to completely free it.

I hope this will help the next viewer of this website.

That happened to my fairly new Whirlpool double oven. But I remembeedr the power in the neighborhood had flickered earlier in the day. So I went to the circuit breaker and shutoff power to the oven for about 30 seconds and turned back on. Everything normal now. I just assumed the slight flicker in the power affected to programming.

my oven code is F5E1

my oven code is F5E1 , my oven was in self clean , now the door is locked

F5E1 is door latch assembly. One way that may work to unlock is to turn circuit breaker to stove off for few seconds then turn back on and door lock should activate and unlock. If not you are going to have to replace the door lock assembly.

i have a whirlpool super capacity self cleaning oven...it keeps showing error codes E1 and F2....what does this mean ?!...how do i fix ?!

HI. This code is a good indication of a separated key pad ribbon or the actual key pad may be damaged. Use the procedure below to isolate the culprit.

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

F6E1 WHIRLPOOL OVEN CODE

My gold series whirlpool oven recently experienced a runaway temperature condition and the oven shut down and would not restart. I got the message feature not available. I did the "CANCEL-CANCEL-START" option and it reported a F6E1 fault. In addition the following "M 258 E255-130" was displayed on the screen. I have disconnected the power for 1/2 hour and restarted. The oven howcame back on and I tested the bake option at the 350d setting, it beeped when it reached the temp but continued to climb to 450d before I cancelled to test. Is the control panel toast?

what is the model #? sounds like a fused relay on the control board, or an element that is grounded to the frame. call a tech on this one, 240V appliances are not to be trifled with!
