How to rename

Open My Computer after plugging your USB drive into your computer. Right-click on that drive and select Properties. On the "General" tab you simply type in the name you want and click <OK>. You have a limited number of characters and cannot use spaced and certain characters. Letters and numbers are fine.

I cant remove write protective from my flash drive

Is there a slider type of switch that can be moved to the "unlocked" position? Or, how old is it? After a lot of usage, it becomes impossible to "write" to it, and so it becomes "read-only". At 4GB in size, it only costs about $4 to replace it.

How to format Sony 4 GB USB in FAT or NTFS after fail to Format?

You should be able to by going to my computer, then right clicking your USB device and either FORMAT or go to properties and on the tabs select tools and error check. You may have the possibility to Format there as well. If that fails I suggest downloading a separate program in linux, such as Hirens Pack...They have Hard Drive/Memory specific program applications + plenty of DOS applications at your fingertips for just about everything else...just be very careful which ones you choose to mess with. Only for advanced users. Hope this helps

Usb problems on Jensen vm9215bt unit

Too many subdirectories is most likely the problem. The stereo may have limitations like 8.3 standard. That means a file can only be 8 characters long with a 3 character extension. Or 256 for folders, including paths. This is old school naming restrictions.

Momentarily a small prompt will appear saying the computer has detected a new removable device.
