Frigidaire FEF355 Electric Kitchen Range Questions & Answers
My grandparents oven caught on fire and fried the
We selected this oven element based on the shape shown and the dimensions given in its .com description. It works perfectly. The oven is a built in so, as you can imagine, I was not anxious to replace it. This element was not advertised as a self cleaning oven element, but it did self clean our oven as well as the original element did. My wife and I are very pleased with this purchase.
Left front range top burner temerture control issues
Good Morning Friend,
I understand that you are having trouble with the left front burner on your Frigidaire range, model# FEF355. I see that the burner heats up to a glowing red hot temperature, no matter what you set the dial to. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes.
When power is restored, the first thing you will need to do is set the clock. You will do this by pressing the "Clock" button, then within 5 seconds press and hold the up or down arrows until the correct time of day appears.
Once you have set the time, turn on the left front burner, on the lowest setting. If the burner is still glowing red hot, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your range and determine what is causing the burner to glow red hot on all settings. Hope this is helpful.

What's wrong with it?
Good Morning Friend,
I see that the display panel is no longer working on your Frigidaire range, model# FEF355. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Sometimes the control boards inside your appliance can miscommunicate with each other and can cause things such as this to occur. Most times they need the hard reset to get them communicating again. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your range status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

After self cleaning...F9 showing in panel with
The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.
Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.
Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Have frigidaire range electric : while baking the
Hi,
In such conditions you should disconnect power to range and remove oven temperature sensor connector from control. · Measure oven temperature sensor resistance at oven temperature sensor connector. Should read 1100 ohms at room temperature (approx 72 degrees F). Measure each oven temperature sensor lead from connector block to ground. If shorted, look for pinched or cut wire in oven temperature sensor circuit. Check connector terminals - Look for deformed or corrosion on terminals. Repair or replace. If all above is ok replace control. Let us know if you need further clarification.

FRigidare new stove installation
Loud pop means electrical fault occured. There may be and internal fuse in the oven that blew. Probably blown oven element but certainly open circuit to timer. Remove back, check for supply to oven timer. If supply is there, the timer can be bypassed to allow for oven element to work as clock replacements are very expensive.
The top burners come on but my oven wont heat up.
There is an open circuit in the oven circuit.
If you have a timer, make sure it is set to Manual Operation.
The thermostat rarely fails unless there is mechanical damage to the gas tube inside the oven. It is common for terminals to open circuit due to the high power consumed by oven element.
It is also possible to have a blown fuse to oven supply if it is fed by two or three phase power.
Check for supply form terminal block to thermostat and from thermostat to element.
A simple test is to remove oven element and insert light globe. When oven turns on globe should light. This confirms element is blown.
Oven shuts off when pre heat is reached
I have a different brand of stove similar problem.
I call a repair person who replaced a temperature sensor.
It look like this one at this Web Site:http://www.kitchenandhousewares.us/shop/amazon_products_feed.cgi?Operation=ItemLookup&ItemId=B001E8ENAU&myOperation=Image
I do hope this help you.
Frigidaire code F1
Rainbow, F1 could be one of three things. The loud pop doesn't sound good. 1. Shorted keypad-replace the control. 2. The control sensed a runaway oven temp. In this case you would have to ohm out the temp probe. 3. The control itself may have a shorted relay-replace the control. The temp probe should ohm at approx 1100 ohms at room temp. Unplug the oven for one minute, if the code returns, first ohm the temp sensor (probe) if that checks ok, replace the control..Catriver
