BOOT ERROR
Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Sony Walkman NWD-B105F MP3 Player
I bought a NWD-B103F sony mp3 player last year. The mp3 player was working just fine till the same problem as discussed had popped out recent after 2 weeks i had left it untouched. Even I had followed the solutions given, I updated the firmware to version 1.2, I even tried the "pressing play button while inserting the player to USB port" method, the problem remained. I sent the mp3 player to the nearest sony service centre (still under warranty), they fixed it in one day and contacted me to get back the mp3. For my disappointment, I brought the player home and tried it out, the problem still unsolved. So, I'd like to know is there any other useful solutions because all other solutions given I had attempted resulted failure. Thanks for all the concern!

Sony Walkman - Digital Music Player NWD-B105F
I had the exact same problem with my girlfriends sony nwd-b105 mp3 player. I fixed it by downloading the firmware version 1.2, which can be found here at the sony support link below.

- Make sure your mp3 device is NOT plugged in
- Run the firmware executable
- When it asks for it plug in the mp3 device
- Check option: format data area
- Press Start
- When finished, take the mp3 device out and press the power button
- If everything went well it is creating a database again and will function correctly as usual

First Step: Format the Player using the PC. (click with right button on "Internal Device" and select "Format".
Second Step: On the "Internal Device", create this folders: "Music", "FM", "Record" and "Voice".
Third Step: Copy your music into the Music folder.
That`s it!! Go play

I have a sony walkman
Hi carthagefarm,
This can happen when the file system gets corrupt, what I would suggest you is to connect the device to your computer via a cable and then check if you can find the music files in it.
When you do that , you should copy the files to your computer and then format this music player and then again copy the files in it.
This should solve your problem.
In case it does not , feel free to contact me.
Hope that helps ...:)

I have Boot error on
The
only way to fix a boot error message on an mp3 player is to do a
firmware upgrade. If the firmware is available you will find it on the
manufacture's website. It's important that your computer still recognize
the player when it's connected because the firmware will be have to be
downloaded onto the player.
The firmware should be installed then connect your usb player. Follow the steps given on the web. By the way it will be better if you format your player as well during this installation.
I'm using the same model as you and I'm very glad to share you this.. hope you will try!
