Try to turn it off and unplug it for a few minutes, turn it back on and leave it to copy mode. try printing from the computer then/ keep us posted.

i was having the same problem and just got off of the phone with tech support who fixed the problem for me,

go into system preferences
print and fax

there you should see the printer cx8400.

remove the printer by clicking on the - sign.

then re add the printer, by clicking the +

the computer will search for the drivers and install them.

that should have you printing like a champ.

1) Cleaning the print heads physically is not a tough task, but it is important to handle the printer parts gently. Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water to clean the print head. 2) With the printer turned on, open the top cover and allow the print head to settle in its position. You can move the printer carriage by hand. 3) The print head would be covered with ink. Take the cloth and use some mild cleaning liquid or distilled water. 4) You can purchase some syringe if you need to clean the internal parts of the printer. Head cleaning procedure consumes a lot of ink. Ink level counter run too. So, after some head cleaning ink level counter reach zero level (ink out/empty level). I had the exact same problem with the endless blank pages "printing" out.  I have a MacBook Air with OSX 10.5.6.
Before I got a chance to try and delete and reinstall all the drivers all over again, my phone call was answered by a very helpful lady from Epson's support line US: 562-276-4382.                           
Here's how easy it was to fix: Go into Apple System Preferences, click Printer & Fax. HOLD CONTROL while clicking on the printer on the left side of the screen.  When you HOLD CONTROL, it allows you to choose the option to "Reset Printers".  
Click "Reset Printers", and you will see them all disappear.  Simply plug in your CX8400 and click the plus button to add new printer.  It will search for the driver for you if you have an internet connection.  It worked for me on the first try and took only about 2 minutes total!!!!
I'd wasted so much time installing drivers and screwing with the printer before this.  Save your time for things that make you happy!  Share help when you can!

i order the 8 jan 2010 2 print heads No : 88 (ref hp c9381a for black/yellow and ref hp c9382a for magenta/cyan) and i receive it after 4 days.

I had the same problem, and after scouring around online for a few days, I learned that this is one of the biggest gripes about this printer. Basically, you're out of luck unless you replace EVERYTHING, even though you only want to print black (nuts, isn't it?). So I went out and bought all new color cartridges, and it STILL won't print. I think it's just a bad printer all around. :(
