Yes, according to the Lexmark website, your printer model is compatible with Windows Vista and even Windows 7. I would suggest that you uninstall the drivers for the printe/scanner and download the new drivers from their support website, then re-install the printer/scanner using those drivers.

if you carefully remove the whole cover undo the 4 screws and gently prise the locating tabs away from body disconnect the small multiplug thing and the digital strip thing they come out easy but gently does it! then gently prise the hinges the hole scanner unit cover lifts off you will probably find the same as i did the small plastic sensor thing rolling around in there, fit this back over the sensor switch that you will see on the circuit board its very small but is there, poke it gently beforehand to check its moving ok, once the plastic bit is clipped back over your problem should not then exist! my cover open message went straight away, it drove me nuts trying to find out why! now my paper jams and cant find out why! hope this has been some help to you

your best bet is to download the driver from the venders site Click Here i have set up a link for you to download it the cd is probaly corupt or damaged

drivers for windows7, x32, x64, Vista, XP, all are available just select the operationg system you have and you will be good to go.

Disconnect printer, remove the printer driver then upgrade to win 7. After that is done downoad new driver from lexmark for win 7 and install it. then reconnect printer.

you should be able to use the import media option in any of your office or photo sodeware. there should also be a scan to or a start scan button on your unit
