Fabric softeneer despenser has water

Had one where the softener dispenser had all kinds of dried up crud from the softener which caused the water to collect there instead of drain down. It actually looked like wax, after cleaning it out the water problem went away.

Agitator malfunction spining freely not

It appears your Agitator/Agitator Dogs has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

The following advice is for replacing the "Agitator Dogs" on Kenmore and Whirlpool TOP LOADER style washing machines. This simple repair can save you a fortune in repair costs as the replacement parts are very inexpensive at a cost of less than $10. The replacement kit part number is 80040. You can order on line at various appliance parts websites, or use this part number and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer.

What are "Agitator Dogs"? These are small plastic pieces (usually 4) that are located under the agitator center cap that grip the agitator and turn it during the wash cycle. They can (and do) wear out dependent upon the use of the washer. If you are in the habit of doing large load sizes frequently, or wash large items such blankets or afghans, this can wear the teeth off and reduce the life of the agitator dogs.

SYMPTOMS REQURING REPLACEMENT: The agitator fails to turn during the wash cycle, or will not turn with a heavy load. The timer will run normally through all cycles, and you will be able to hear the gearcase (transmission) engage and run. The washer will also drain normally. The only indication that something is wrong will be the agitator slipping or not turning at all. The result will be clothes that do not wash properly and will sit on the bottom of the wash tub.

To replace the Agitator Dogs, follow these steps:

1.Remove the agitator center cap by either pulling straight up or gently placing a flat blade screwdriver into a slot located in the cap.
2.If the agitator is equipped with an inner cap with a handle, remove this as well by pulling straight up.
3.Remove the center bolt of the agitator. You will have either a 7/16" hex bolt or a recessed square plastic nut. If you have the square recessed type, use a 3/8" to ½" ratchet adapter to remove.
4.Remove the agitator by grasping the bottom flange and carefully pulling straight up. Try to keep all the parts assembled while doing this, so do not pull too hard. This will make this repair much easier.
5.Place your hand over the top of the agitator and separate the upper portion of the agitator from the lower portion and turn the top half over in your hand. The agitator dog assembly will come out in your hand.
6.With the agitator dog assembly in your hand, lay the rest of the agitator aside. Pay careful attention to how the dogs are installed. Remove the worn dogs and reinstall new ones. It's that simple.
7.With all the dogs replaced and the assembly still in your hand, place the upper part of the agitator over the top of it, upside down, ensuring the inner assembly tabs align correctly.
8.Now keep your hand over the agitator top to hold all the pieces together and turn the entire assembly over (upright position).
9.Carefully align and reinsert the upper portion of the agitator to the lower portion. Again, making sure the two pieces align correctly.
10.Place the entire agitator assembly back on the gearcase shaft and reinstall center nut. NOTE: DO NOT over tighten the nut, or the agitator will not spin correctly. Just make the nut snug. Reinstall center cap and inner cap (if equipped).

These instructions should give you the basics on how to perform this repair. Since there are various agitator types in use by Whirlpool and Kenmore, assembly can vary.

I have a 7-8 year

Hello there:
The first thing you will need to check is the lid switch if you have the lid open take a screwdriver and press it in the slo tthat the lid closed on and see if there is a click when the machine is on if not this needs to be replaced but ifit does click
check these solutions i have provided below
If your washer doesn't spin or agitate on either the delicate or regular cycle, check these: Selector switch If your washer has a selector switch on the control panel, make sure the button for your selection is pressed all the way in, or set properly. Clutch assembly Many washers use a clutch and an automatic shift lever. This assembly is quite complicated. If there's a problem with it, you probably should contact a qualified appliance repair technician. Drive motor Many washing machines have multiple-speed drive motors. Though it's uncommon, the drive motor may work fine on one speed but not on another. If the drive motor has failed on one speed, you need to replace the entire motor.

Kenmore Elite Calypso FL

The FL error code means:
Flood Condition:
FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

This problem I see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.

There is a check "valve" in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. You can remove this piece, and might avoid changing the pump.

I have a Whirlpool Gold Catalyst washer, Sm

"OL" means Open Lid. Prior to spin the washer checks to see if the top lid is closed as a safety feature preventing children and arms from entering the tub during spin. It's likely the lid switch has failed the link below will take you to the Service Manual for your machine. Page 27 discusses the failure code. Page 6 discusses the location of the switch.

To access the lid switch the control panel and the outer cabinet needs to be removed. The procedure to accomplish this is:
Pull machine away from the wall. Disconnect power. The control panel has two plastic end caps. The rear edge of each end cap will show a hole which has a partially covered Phillips head screw in it. Put a screwdriver in and remove the screw in each end cap.

Move to the front of the washer. Grasp each end cap and pull straight toward you about 1/4 " to 1/2 " then lift. The control panel should disengage from the top of the machine. The top of the control panel stays attached to the back plate of the washer. Rotate the front of the control up. This will expose all parts in the control panel.

Using the Flat blade screwdriver remove the two brass colored clips that hold the cabinet to the rear of the washer. Unplug the wires leading to the lid switch.Pull the cabinet toward you and tilt it. It will disconnect from the base of the washer and come completely off. You are now where you can make repairs on about any component in the washer.

The lid switch is located in the right rear corner of the washer under the top.

Reverse the order above to reinstall. Replace the cabinet. Look at the base of the washer on the sides. You will see two extrusions or metal tabs that mate with slots in the bottom of the cabinet. The cabinet has a lip on the bottom front that goes under the bottom frame of the washer. Place the lip under the base, let the cabinet down to mate to the extrusions on the base. Line the back up to the cabinet and replace the brass colored clips that hold the back of the washer to the cabinet. Plug the lid switch back in. Put console back in place and install the screws holding console.

Washer wont stop draining out

Check the drain height and make sure that the drain is not too low. This will cause the situation that you describe. This diagram may prove useful. I hope so anyway and best wishes.
