Need to inspect my drive

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa,

To remove the rear panel of your WFMC3300 ( it's the only way to inspect the belt, drive pulley etc.) simply remove the #20 torx screws ( 18 total ) then pull the panel out. You can also remove the top panel in a similar manner, remove the 3 screws ( also #20 torx head ) and slide the panel towards the back an inch or two and lift up.

Don't remove the top rear panel with the "H" & "C" stampings.

If you want to post an email address I can send you a service manual via email "pdf" attachment of the newer "WFVC" series bosch washer, essentially identical mechanically, with only a few cosmetic changes.

Let me know how you make out of if you require further assistance and we'll go from there. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Can I just run machine on spin cycle?

Yes you can , almost every washer made now has a seperate spin only programme.
Some have the option of a fast spin, or a slow spin programme.

I have a Bosch 500

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your post,
" believe that the lint filter is clogged, where is it and can I clean it myself? " These are the steps I'd suggest you take to move forward...

**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**

Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, that sucks...hopefully you won't get too wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
  1. Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner) macmarkus_26.jpg
  2. Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door.
macmarkus_30.jpg

3. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful...I usually cover the edges with electrical or duct tape or wear welders gloves).

4. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand or with the aid of pliers.

macmarkus_32.jpg

( you should also see a ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan )

macmarkus_31.jpg THIS RELEASES THE DOOR LATCH IF PULLED

There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out

5. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap.

Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated your post here.

macmarkus_29.jpg
6. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test.

7. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks.

Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.

Thank you for coming to "FixYa" and good luck.

Will not spin to high some times and dryer just

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The click that you hear comes from dryer when either the Thermal fuse or the Timer is bad. If you hear this click from the rear panel then it is the Thermal fuse that is bad, if the click is coming from the control then Timer motor needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

E:02 error code

This code means that the machine is not detecting enough water entering the machine. First you will need to remove the fill hoses at the rear of the machine and look to see if there is and water deposits on the screens at the inlet valves. If there is none, make sure you have the hot side and cold side on the correct sides. If all of this checks out then the water valve will need to be replaced. Parts for this machine can be prdered at, http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action, using your model number. The part number for the hot valve is 422245, and the cold water valve is 422244.

Please rate my solution if it was helpful to you.

Can not spin water out

Hello,

Welcome to fixya.

What you may have is either a partially clogged pump, or a faulty pump...the later being the least likely.

You haven`t mentioned if you`ve actually visually checked the pump...it is likely just that, a blocked pump.

Anyway, here`s the most likely way to remedy your problem.

**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**

  1. Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, hopefully you won't get wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
  2. Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner)

3. Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door.

4. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves).

5. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a green ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan. This will deal with the door lock issue but it likely isn`t unlocking due to the water in the tub )

**There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out.**

6. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code.

7. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test.

8. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks.

Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, or a lock, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first.

Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this indeed solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.

Thank you for coming to "fixya" and good luck.

My 500 series is not

I would make sure the machine has not got blocked inlet filters. Many machines have a little mesh filter inside at the hose connections ,I hould check the hoses are clear too by puting the ends in a bucket and very gently ease the water back on too check for blockage.

hope this helps

My dryer does not heat up I pushed both reset

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Just to clarify your statement "dryer does not heat up I pushed both reset buttons..." are you referring to the hi limit cut out ( on the heater box ) and the emergency shut off switches ( next to the belt pulley ) you've reset already ?

examples

9df8b79.jpg
fb1f63c.jpg

I'll assume you are unless you say otherwise since you've also stated the dryer will indeed tumble just not heat, correct ?

Have you checked the heating element for continuity following the reset attempts ?

If not, that is where I'd direct your attention going forward. With the aid of an ohm meter or a multi-meter, place a lead on each element terminal and you should have continuity.

If you're uncertain about how to go about this, send me an email at [email protected] and I can attach a short .wmv file approximately 3.5MB ( there is no audio and it is directly from Bosch ) on "how to".

I'll watch for your reply. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Where is the filter please -

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

The filter is located in the front near the bottom, follow below for a complete ยป"how to".

**Unplug the washer or turn off your breaker before servicing the washer...safety first**

To check and clean the pump on your washer, If you direct your attention to the bottom right side of your Bosch you'll see a small round cover like so...

eb32373.jpg
With the aid of a small screw driver, knitting needle, or anything small enough to fit in the small hole in this cover...

682f584.jpg

It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force.

Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free, the edges are extremely sharp so be careful.

Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a green or red ring attached to a metal clip on the pump, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first if present, is usually a good plan )

There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out. There is potential for a lot of water...even if the washer looks empty.

e03d805.jpg

Now pull out the trap/filter and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap.

cba5b21.jpg

57307ce.jpg

That is how you gain access to and clear the filter on your Bosch washer.

Re-install the filter and run a test with some towels or something to check it`s performance and to insure the filter is tight with no leaks before putting the cover back in place.

If this answered your question, awesome. If not let me know and I`ll try and help further.

Hope you found this helpful. If so please take a moment to write a short testimony and leave a rating.

Thank you for choosing FixYa, good luck.

Bosch Error Code 13 Washer won't drain

First, unplug your washer. After that find the little round plate below your drum opening on the exterior of the washer. It should have a small hole in it. Use something to gently push trough this hole and twist the cover off, Inside there you will find the drain access. Be careful, if there is water in your drum this will make a mess when you unscrew the drain access. Take the usual precautions and unscrew the drain access slowly until it is off. Remove any obstructions and replace access door and cover. Clean up any mess and plug back in your washer and try again. takes about thirty minutes to an hour depending on how much water is in the drum.
