New GE electric kettle causes wall outlet to stop working.
Your electric kettle in drawing more current than your wall outlet's are made for. Not being able to read your current draw on your GE kettle I would guess you have a bad GE kettle and it needs to be returned to where you bought it.

Can kettle be cleaned and continue to be used.
I use a solution of vinegar and water (1:1) and boil it in the kettle, to remove mineral deposits from the metal heating surface (We do the same with the percolating coffee maker and run it through several times)... It seems to take any residual tastes out of the unit and possibly also cleans the plastic parts that it touches (I believe it does).
By the way... WHO thought it was a good idea to heat apple cider in an electric kettle. Sorry but WOW

Why is this kettle so noisy
Kettles generally do this, Here's why: As it's heating up, the water next to the element turns to gas and starts to rise to the top. Since the gas bubbles are small at first, they turn back to water before reaching the surface and water rushes in to fill the space - this is what creates the noise. When the element gets quite hot, however, it can convert the water to gas more quickly which creates bigger bubbles that float to the top and burst into the air.
So, the longer it takes to heat up, the longer it makes noise. Some kettles have a more powerful element that simply gets to the second stage more quickly. The 'cordless' ones like yours have a smaller connection from the power to the element and it takes a bit longer. Worthwile, considering the convenience, in my opinion.

How to descale tefal express boil
I was searching for this solution then I found the manual in a draw so to help anyone else with the same problem the method is:Descaling should be carried out every 3 months.Fill the appliance to max. Dispense maximum size cup to a large cup.Add descaler to the cup then pour back into appliance.Dispense the mixture in the appliance into the cup and disgard.Continue until applance is at minimum water level.Empty the appliance then refill with water and run it through the machine and disgard until its at minimum then empty the appliance again. It should be ready for use. You can use 1ltr white (and only white) vinegar instead of the descaler and water mixture.
