How do you take the plastic clip off that hold the tone arm

Well be very carefull, since they breal soooo easily. You can get if bu unscrewing the imbuscat the side and the internal you desolder your tonearm wires and with some effort you can pull out the pivot after unscrewing the the height adjustment screw at the the side. They are crappy things and i just glue them together woth some thin bare thin wire to keep it in place, after that i use some kevlar/carbon fibre with the right glue, but not a lot of glue holds on it.... annoying part.

My vestax turntable doesn't spinning

Well since i read it often and have such a table myself, it,probably like with technics turntables. A lack of maintenance and since you s ratch with it it , only never replacing the powersupply capacitors, which are really good , but it depends all on the pressure you use . Open the unit , check the capacitors, which is 10sec work , offcourse check the fuses and thermistor , but do you see a light if you put it on and do you hear crackles when you spin the platter and have you ever ipend the motor and clean and lubricated the motor? A lot of peoples with the 2000 blame the motor and transformer for the thing do stop, without never have opened the unit in 14 years. It's a perfect motor and powersupply, but first open the supereasy tt checking the obvious things. But you have to agree, it's a nice scratch unit, als the 3000 mix, which has way better abs plastic and feet, scratches better then my mk-5. And replace the plastic in the feet for mettal. I see a lot of guys with broken feet and a whole deck with scratches, but though i agree that the height adjustment, piece of far to hard plastic toyshit, most peoples use the pitch far too high, But in 14 years stuff breaks

Platter is rubbing against sides of turntable, making a grating sound. How can I fix it?

Remove the plater with the two screws and bow the two pieces of metal where you screw your platter on a bit to above. If the ain\'t it , check the screws where you engine is connected with on the inside and otherwise the rottor holder ain\'t straight anymore, so just inscrew the backplate of the motor , heat that shitty glue , which can be a hell to remove and the pieve of the where the rotor spins on , needs a couple of tick with little hammer in the middle , which will raise the rotor and you have more space.... don\'t hit it to hard and only till it\'s straight. gr richard

My turntable keeps skiping for no reason, no

What is the weight on the stylus? Flip the protective shield down to protect the stylus if available. Tare the tone arm (adjust the counterweight on the back of the arm until the arm floats perfectly level), then hold the counterweight and turn the dial markings to read zero. If you cannot find the recommended mass for the stylus you can use the average weight of 3g. Verify your tone arm is still floating in the center and the arm is perfectly level. Turn the counterweight until the dial indicates the specified weight of the cartridge manufacture specification sheet or you can set it for 3g if you do not have the specification sheet.

Platter on my CR249 is distorted, not level

Is it made of plastic, it is probably warped. Put it on an flat table to check; both sides. If that's not the issue, it could be a spindle bearing bad or loose. My turntable spins but has no sound output. the

If you disconect the wires to the cartridge you can check if the sound is getting to the amp. With the amp switched on and the turntable connected, touch each wire one at a time with your finger. You should get a buzz on one wire on the left and one on the right with another. The other two wires won't give off any buzz. If you don't hear the buzz on either channel, either the connections linking your amp are faulty or the magnetic cartridge pre-amp inside the amp has failed. If you do hear the buzz then the cartridge is faulty or the connections to it are bad.

MY FUSE KEEPS BLOWING OUT

If the fuse keeps blowing it's because some part is acting like it is a piece of wire. It will probably be a semi-conductor in the power supply of the turntable, or the transformer. They often look burnt or damaged the semi-conductors in this state.

Re: Power Problem

More than likely the power transformer fried. If so, it will need to be replaced. You might also want to check the fuse. Some of the PDX units have fuses on the rear (where the RCA cables connect)... some don't. I've also seen some that have a fuse on the inside of the turntable, underneath the turntable platter... some don't. If your's has a fuse, see if it has burned out. If so, just replace.

If not, then the only other thing that would affect power on the PDX is the power transformer, and only a qualified service tech should replace this for you.

Platter not spinning properly

Make sure the platter is seated correctly. Lift it off, and set it back down. Also check to see that there is no debris or foreign matter stuck underneath the platter or where the platter sits.

Check to make sure the platter itself is not bent or warped. Do this by removing the platter (lift up), and then put it on a flat table/surface. Look at it from the side. Is it warped?

Hope this helps

Vestax pdx 2000 loose to the touch deck

It is possible that the deck that feels loose is not properly secured to the turntable. You may want to try tightening the screws or bolts that hold the deck in place. If this does not fix the issue, there may be a problem with the bearings or the motor of the turntable. It is best to consult a technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.
