That error is usually caused from switching an access card from one reciever to another, if that is not the case then you will have to call directv for them to send a new authorization

If the receiver is blowing, then there is either a problem with connection cable/ coax cable or TV AV board.

A TV AV board blowing the receiver is rather unusual even if possible. Problem is most likely the network coax cable going to dish, or the dish itself. If this is not the first receiver that you replace the receiver, call Directv and ask them checking and possibly replacing dish and coax cable.

Unplug the box from the electrical outlet and wait 30 seconds. Plug the unit back in. If the problem persists, you have a faulty unit.

Newer directv hd receivers must connect to the av input (yellow,red, white) connections on the back/front/side of your tv. If your tv only has one of these av inputs then you will need an RF modulator for your dvd player. You will connect the (yellow,red, white) connections from the dvd player to the rf modulator and then connect the tv out on the rf modulator to the tv rf jack ( the silver threaded barrel on the back of the tv) Tune your tv to channel 3 to watch a dvd and then back to the av input channel for the directv receiver.

directv remotes are not guaranteed to work w/ all types of TV's. when programming remote to TV, make sure you are holding down MUTE and SELECT both at the same time for about 4-5 seconds. until it blinks twice at the top of the remote. also the slide switch must be under the "tv" mode on the right hand side. the website i provided is by directv, and has a list of their codes for the brand of tv that you have.

if you are trying to program a remote to a directv box, and none of the codes are working for the directv box, contact directv to have them send you a new remote.

yes you can, by purchasing an analog splitter at a store. HOWEVER, by using such a splitter what is going to happen is what you are viewing on the tv w/ the directv receiver is what you will be watching on the other tv. you cannot use one receiver to watch different programs. have to have 2 receivers, unless you want to watch the same thing as the person in the other room. also where the receiver is, is where you have to change the channel from.

Directv says the only way to UNLOCK PASSWORD is to call them give them your account .box ID and ascess ID.They will unlock box by satillite signal .
