MY SCANER IS NOT WORKING

Try running Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the proper drivers. If using Windows 7 32-bit use the Vista 32-bit and if using Windows 7 64-bit use the Vista 64-bit drivers. Install the drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

As for scanning, if you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

For a dell all in

How's the color cartridge? The multi-function printers need both to print properly. Try switching to grayscale only, even then you'll get some fading but not as bad. Just dealt with this issue on an HP. They're made by the same company, just branded different! I tell people if they do alot of printing, get a laser color printer (not too expensive anymore) & just use the scan/fax from the old unit. These multi-function units are problematic no matter what brand, unless you spend $400 or more for a small commercial unit.

Are you using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges?

Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has.

Power on the printer. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 9 Black cartridge. make sure all the tape is off the cartridge and put the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 9 color cartridge.

You are using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges, correct?

Dell Series 9 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 9 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

Black cartridge = black side(left side) Color cartridge = color side(right side)

Photo cartridge = black side(left side) Color cartridge = color side(right side)

It is possible to get a Dell Series 9 cartridge with a bad sensor. Contact the place of purchase for a replacement.

Every time I print, the printout always has black

Hi

I believe the print head is clog and need to clean it. Try this solution.

Remove the ink cartridge and clean the print head using a cloth with rubbing alcohol to remove clogged ink in the print head. Then rub the printhead into a plain paper until ink flows. Then try to print again

If still not working, run the print nozzle for 2-3 times to clean thoroughly.

I'm visiting my 90-year old

Try using a cotton swab and clean the heads with alcohol. This will clear out the dried up ink. Hope this helps

Try this tweak...

Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager)



Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.




Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.




Restart your computer.

I got a new computer and printer in 2007 and iam

You may be missing an essential software or driver for printing. I did a search and came to the Dell website, which they offer the driver for the printer. Go to the bottom link, and download the driver , and install it.

You can't plug one printer into two computers. USB connections only allow a single connection between the device and a computer (although you can daisy-chain multiple USB devices off of one computer or each other).

Remove the connection from either the laptop or the other computer and get the sole remaining computer attached to the printer to recognize the printer again.

A plastic strip about 1 quater inch by 12 inches

Hi walsvill,

Is the plastic strip that you are talking about is a 12-14" inch long thin strip plastic at the bottom of the printer? If you are talking about this, you may try the following steps below:

1. First open up the printer and on the far left side of the printer wall there's a square hole with a little post to hook the strip on, just above the metal bar.

2. Then the strip gets fed through a slot on the print cartridge holder.

3. On the far right side of the printer there is a post with a nipple on it coming from the back wall of the printer, just above the bar. Just hook the end of the strip on it.

How can i downloada copy of the cd os to a ubs key

HERE is a link to the driver directly from Dell. you can download it to your USB key and then install it on your PC (or any PC) from there. just make sure you select the correct operating system and you should be fine.

I ran out of ink and replaced my cartridges. When

Try cleaning the Gold section of the cartridges with a wet paper towel.

Unplug the printer and clean the gold contacts on the printer where the cartridge meets up to the printer with a wet paper towel. Do this till the towels come back clean.

Dry both the contacts on printer and cartridges.

Allow at least 30 mins for the printer to dry.

Plug the printer back in and reinstall the cartridges.

Align the cartridges,

Make sure that the power cable is secure. If you are plugging it into a power socket, try plugging it directly into the wall. If it doesn't work after that, you can either get the printer services or think about purchasing a new one.

If you have the printer but no cd to go with it, you can easily download the driver from the internet.

Just go to the Dell Support page for you printer model at the following link:
