Pentax K110D Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Memory card error
With the Memory card error the camera is telling you it encountered a serious problem. you could try saving all pictures on the card to the computer. If you saved all pictures, and only after you saved all pictures, you can format the memory card, and hope the problem is solved.
Do backup you pictures ad many times as possible. After you saved the pictures on the computer, make some extra backups. Now and then don't use the delete picture in the camera, but do a full format on the card.
Memory card error
The K110D works with SD cards, 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.
NEW 4GB SANDISK SDHC WONT WORK IN CAMERA,I HAVE
Hi,
Please check designated card for your camera in owner manual.
If it is OK, then try another good memory card ( with same type) and have your camera re-try.
If nothing change, problem is in your camera . It could be memory card ports/terminals, or its interface with PCB.

Pentax K110d flash trigger problem, I have 2 flash
Your camera uses a PTTL flash system. That means the flash on the camera fires a "pre-flash" to set the exposure and then the main flash. Your flash trigger strobes are reacting to the pre-flash and firing before the shutter activates. This all happens in a millisecond.
Shoot at speed
The sports mode on a DSLR just picks high ISO and fast shutter speeds for you. Go Karts are very fast subject to focus on, so there are two techniques you can try.
One is to set your focus to manual mode and pre focus a point where the car will pass through. Set the camera to multi shot mode and just before the kart gets to the pre-determined point, hit the shutter button. The camera will fire off a few shots, then review later on a computer to chooset the best one out of the sequence.
Another way is set your focus mode for AI-Servo or Focus Tracking mode, this will enable the lens to track moving subjects (as single shot mode is way to slow to keep up with karts). Go to the slowest part of the track to get more sucess.
One problem you maybe having is that the shutter speed is too slow for karts. Being indoors the lighting will be very poor, so a super high ISO rating will need to be used to get faster shutter speeds. Having a lens with a very wide aperture (like f2 of f2.8 or even less) will enable you to get faster shutter speeds because they let in more light.
Good luck.
Will not shoot in low light
Go into your camera menu and find the AOUTO POP UP selection. Turn it on and the flash will be readied. If you don't want to use the flash, set the camera for manual and disable the automatic features. You will have to set your F-stop and time manually.
Pentax k110d Lenses are all a little lose
There are many little parts. I would think twice before considering the removal of the lens mount. Only attempt this is you are absolutley certain that it needs to be done.
Pentax K110D and Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4 EX DG
The Penta K110D has a 1.5X crop factor so a 17mm lense would be the equivalent to 25.5mm (in 35mm standard), therefore may not give you a 103 angle view. You would not really notice that much difference between 17 and 18mm.
Grainy photos in sunlight
Your ISO is probably set too high? to change iso press the fn (function) button and select the right option (with the right arrow) to go to the iso menu. Then use the up and down arrows to change the iso setting. I don't go higher then 400, and in the beach you could set it way down to 100.
Don't point the camera in the direction of the sun as this can wash out the photo. A filter would help somewhat.
Batteries
mmmm.... thats a weird problem :)
Yes definatly try those other rechargable batteries that you where thinking of buying, the batteries could be duds??
other than that, if it is under warrnty send it back to pentax with the batteries and tell them the problem.
Keeping image on LCD screen
You can select this preview option in the "custom settings", see page 103 of the manual (link below)

Why does it take so long to show to the photo after I press the shutter button?
The picture displays after the file has finished saving - if the speed of your SD card is slow, it can take quite a while before the picture is displayed. It also takes a while (up to a minute or more) if the shutter speed is low and the picture is mostly black (taking nighttime moon shots for instance).
Try using a better quality (higher speed) SD card.
Why isn't my K100D Flash not working?
Hi,
please ensure that you've not used the camera for more than the advised amount of time by the manufacturer. Also, you can attempt to use the same brand/type of batteries as was including with your camera when you got it. Some manufacturers put internal fimware/software restrictions on their devices. For printers, this would be done for cartridges and in the case of your camera, it would be for batteries.
Lastly, I would check that your sd card isn't full before calling Pentax to refer you to a repair shop.
Thank you.
