you can buy a universal remote or on some tvs you can access the menu by either hitting the volume up and down buttons at the same time or it might be the channel buttons so i would try both.GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
moisture on components will eventually damage or corode connections i would place it in a very warm place near heating pipes airing cupboard etc and leave it for a couple of days then try again if youre lucky it will drive out moisture and tv will work.
Your problem is a bad sweep power supply or the horizontal sweep circuit has a short in it such as a bad horizontal output transistor as well as the high voltage flyback transformer. These are not problems that should even be concidered to be repaired or attempted to be repaired by an untrained person in solid state electronics. Please seek out a trained service person to estimate the TV for you as there are no user parts inside this set, and a TV set is not a place to be experimenting around inside of.
Since the TV is only 2 months pld, it must be covered under Warranty. Just take it to the Service Centre and get it fixed.
Froim your description it seems that the Horizontal Oscillator or Output section has a short circuit.
Remove the cover on the back of the tv. Look for swollen or leaking capacitors. They kinda look like batteries. If they are bulging or leaking then that is your problem. You will have to de-solder the old ones off. Then solder the new capacitors onto the circuit board. Capacitors will cost about 20 dollars and installing them isn't that hard to do. It will fix your tv 99% of the time. So it is worth a try!
In order to pair your RMT-D197A remote to your Philips TV, follow these steps: 1. Power on the TV with the remote. 2. Press and hold the Setup button on the remote until the red LED light blinks twice. 3. Input the four-digit code that corresponds to your brand of TV on the remote. This should be found on the enclosed code list. 4. Release the Setup button. If the code is correct, the red LED light will blink twice. 5. Aim the remote at the TV and press the Volume Up button. If the TV responds, the remote is paired correctly.
