I have a few questions which will determine what your problem may be.Did or does the set make a high pitched fan like sound or a high pitched whine? What have you examined so far?As far as a lamp it is unlikely it will cause such a sound but if you remove it look to see it is intact and not shattered.Let me know SD TECH

I cannot find the cn810 jumper on my samsung

IF it is there it is in a tiny opening on the DMD board which is the metal box at the rear of the light engine that the color wheel plugs into.

On the side facing the rear of the set with all the little holes in it should be one tiny rectangular opening. The jumper is small and usually just has a flat bare metal band across the top.

If there remove carefully with hemostat or small needle nose pliers.

My set turns off intermitently.

Have you replaced the lamp before this could be one of two things the lamp is all ready burning out this lamps last around 2-3years of use or it could be a bad ballast board if you all ready replaced the lamp and you have the same problem so if you have not replaced the lamp before the would be the best thing to replace here is the lamp you need

I have 10 vertical bars

Okay since you got raster "display" I would call this a tuner/decoder issue that is displaying those bar's "output" more then like then not you tuner/decoder is going to need to be looked at or even replaced.

You did not leave the TV;s model number so I am kinda hesitant on giving out cost of repair and labor because many 5-6 your old tv's are projected tv's and in saying the the parts are going to be a bear to fine. I would check www.partsotre.com or matts electronics..

Having Problems getting my tv to turn on

It could be a Flyback transformer problem. Check th flyback for loose solder move the transformer a little bit and look on the underside of the circuit board. be careful ther may be current left over. Put your left hand in your pocket.or away from you. if it is not that you may have a faulty circuit board (burnt resistors) near the yoke going to the screen.

Color wheel

Good day, dkimberly428;
Sorry you are having a problem with your SNG TV.
Let me ask you why did you replace the color wheel? Was it making noise, but had pic prior to changing it?
Okay, if that was it, try this: the color wheel ***'y has one cable and "ribbon type" cable, correct? Okay, make sure both cables are secured. Secondly, the "ribbon type cable" was more then likely put in backwards. If I remember correctly the shiny side (end) of ribbon cable should be facing the rear of TV.
Good Luck, big IRISH. PS always double check ALL cables in TV to make sure they are properly seated.

no there is no way to check the lamp. You can check ballast voltages but thats dangerous. The main thing is to make sure the replacement lamp is the same number as your old one.

I just responded to your other post check the connection between the lamp and ballast at both ends. Also did you get the same exact lamp as your old lamp, as Samsung has two different arc gaps and they wont work if you get the other type even though they look the same physically.

SAMSUNG HL-P5663W problem

White lines evenly spaced, across the screen is normally caused by the DMD. When replacing the DMD, the light engine must be pulled from the set. After the DMD is replaced and the light engine is returned, a mechanical alignment must be done and then the technician pulls up the service menu and aligns the Index Delay and SP actuator. Hope this helped.

Replaced lamp now lamp light keeps flashing still also the stand by temp light flashes

Sounds like a door switch is not making proper contact--or has been damaged. Check the lamp door switch and see if it is properly seated and the pin on the door is hitting the leaf of the switch.

You need a color wheel--common on these sets. Get a real phillips bulb and you should be set for awhile. The cheap generic bulbs are fine to get you through a few MONTHS....but NOT much longer. . An E22H-120/132 watt lamp is correct--and if you can replace just the bulb-(NOT hard at all to do) it will save you a LOT of money.

Samsung dlp dnie

just from personal exp the easiest thing to do may fix or at least make it better. if u see puffed and leaky caps on power supply replace capacitors. if really dusty clean. both previously mentioned and both helped me. my tv was completely dead and replacing caps got it to power back up and work. it takes two trys to come on but works great so far. then i cleaned every nook and cranny with a small vacuum hose and different size/angle brushes that could be attached to hose. i only took out the psb board with caps and didnt touch anything in there that i could mess up. just cleaning helped enhance the colors. right now this is the best picture ive had on a tv and it was completly dead when i got it.
