try a dvd on your tv.sounds like a signal source problem.if you see the wave playing a dvd then you have a defective digital main pcb or the panel is going bad.

AV jacks not plugged in right replug in. And changes the modes.

I have a 50 plasma Toshiba and since this morning it turns on and off every 20 seconds by itself. The control is not working either. When it's on it nakes a static sounds and then just shuts off. If anyone can lep me please do so.

To start, the module with the blown fuse will have to be replaced. The rest of the boards will have to be verified to know which other ones may have been the cause of the failure.

You will have to give the set out for factory service to have it working again.

I have the same problem with my 42HL167, hope someone can advise.

to test the zsus board check for a low resistance on the fuse to ground. sadly if the zsus is bad, the ysus and one or both of the driver boards is probably also bad. best to change all at once as a defective one can tacke out the others.

I just had mine repaired for $600. The design of the set has an air flow problem that doesn't have enough flow to keep the dust from collecting on the circuit boards causing hot spots.The technician cleaned and checked the unit. It had a bad module (board)(T-75003031). This was replaced as well as the fan speed increased to move more air through the unit. It's working as usual so far, but I've only had it a week.

Your Cable box might need to be reprogrammed. Call the cable company and they will drive you thru the steps to program it, this way you will get the channels. This process might take you 30-45 minutes.

a 42hp66 is a plasma set,, the y-sus or the z-sus circuit board has probably gone bad.. as these are expensive parts you might want to have a technician determine which one of the two is bad before ordering both of them

Your set can be fixed. This type of fault can be the drive board, or the main power supply. This would have to be verified by board swapping. Then the tech will leave the working board in the set, re-adjust the board setup as required, and return the set to you.

The cost of servicing Plasma sets is expensive. Most of the time it pays more to replace the set. Take the set in for an estimate before deciding to service it.

you're doomed.

It is worthless. The glass itself is the sealed plasma display unit. once it is cracked it will not work correctly. The most expensive part of the set.

Have it fixed now before its too late the plasma is cheep and will fail. while its under make them replace it.
