check the lint screen in the tank lid its red

Flip the unit over you will see a grey panel that looks like a V with 6 or 8 screws remove it and you will find a black cover I think it has 2 screws remove it and you will see a gasket seal for the bottom for the motor mine was white some times this seal gets miss align. It is not easy putting it bask into place, I made a tool out of a metal hanger to help. Hope this helps you, it increased the suction on my cleaner 100 percent.

the trigger activates a switch that activates the solenoid. You can test the solenoid with leads it will click if it is working with 110v leads. Warning the pump is not 110v is is 12v it has a rectifier in the machine.

Hey, you may want to remove the upper handle to see if the wire harness is protruding, then reinstall making sure the handle is fully inserted onto the machine. Have it serviced at a facility such as Sears. They have the proper tools to dismantle it and diagnose it.
