A connector is a jack and plug - like a headphone jack and associated headphone plug at the end of a cord. The jack is the opening on the front of the stereo and the plug pushes (or plugs) into the jack.
The D70 has many connectors or "jacks" and mating "plugs". Some of these connectors are long and very narrow. The plugs that go into those are mostly thin, flat, pieces of plastic with circuit traces on them like those shown below.
The picture above shows 5 connectors with plugs attached on the printed circuit board or "PCB" . The screwdriver is being used to lift the locking tab so that the gold colored circuit traces can be unpluged easily. The lock tab should be lifted to make plugging in possible. Other connectors on the D70 are used to bring cables from outside of the camera to inside. An example would be the USB jack and your CF card connector. Other connectors allow the different PCBs in the camera to work together by sending and receiving signals between the PCBs. Here's a

This is a pretty intense job you're performing so go slow, and pay attention to the parts (take pictures with your cell phone) you remove in each step to help you get it all back together again. I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.
