Have you ever oiled the cutting shafts....all cross-cut shredders require some amount of lubrication....the more you use it the more it should be lubricated. You can get a bottle of lightweight shredder oil from the same place you got the machine.

Does it run in reverse.????
You may just have dirty "eyes" where the paper is inserted, OR they may be defective.

Try soaking the cutters with soapy water, yes it works. Oil after you are done.

I advise purchasing the metal one.

Unplug the machine.
Remove the waste bin.
Remove 4 screws inside underneath to take cutting head off the basket/cabinet.
Turn the cutting head over and remove 6 screws that hold the top cover onto the bottom. Turn the unit back over and remove the top cover...remove the medallion if jammed...check the gear train to see if it has broken any teeth in the drive gears.

Have you ever "oiled" the cutting blades...all cross-cut shredders should be oiled regularly otherwise they clog up with the paper and debris generated by the cutting of the paper...the oil helps feed this material on thro into the shredding bin.
