It will not detect the camera because you have not set the camera to Play mode or interface mode. Hence change the settings to play mode or USB mode and then try it will sure detect the camera.

you will get a firewire when you buy this item. insert one end (smaller end into camcorder) and the other end to the PC (thru USB) and transfer.

try storing in a case that has a couple of those moisture eaters in it. Dont put it in the oven though!!!!

E03 error code means problem with Take-up Reel table that is not spinning properly and system control chip missing Take-up reel FG pulse/ signal.
reason can be either bad / stiff tape or defective mechanism of camcorder.
Try few other tapes in camcorder and if problem still exist, replace tape mechanism by qualified camera tech.

where your battery goes in,on the side , theres a little hole should say reset,get a niddle and push it and after you reset it ,it should work,make sure its on when you do it .if my info is of any help to you please leave me a comment ,thankyou.

If you are referring to the JVC GR-DVL520, yes it does play Mini DV tapes, as well as records to them. It will not play Mini DV tapes that were recorded on an HDV camera. HDV is used by any Mini DV camera that records HD video.

There is a free program called split cam, that will allow you to take any input (from your firewire) and map it to a standard webcam driver that skype can use.

Did your camera come with an installation disk?
If so then install that or if windows ask you to install drivers do that.
If all else fails go to the manufactures site and look for any drivers or solutions there.

through the data cable given and the pc suite given u hav to install the software and connect the cam and pc through the cable and transfer the data r u must goto the shop and convert it for money

Is it connected with a firewire cable? Have you been able to import the video before to your Mac?
If it it says it is in USB Mode - then change the camera menu setting to DV.

Power off the camera, shut down iMovie - power on the camera then launch iMovie check again. (Assuming your using iMovie).
