I'm trying to get a Dell power edge 2850 to start

It might not be a driver. It might be the monitor. Try another monitor.

Problem with the Dell PowerEdge 2650 Server Can't

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if thehard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. The hard drive needs to bereplaces in the laptop and Windows installed and the laptop's device driversand your programs etc to get a functioning laptop again.

While performing multiple activities an error message says "The media is write protected" how remove?

Hello, Not sure what the media type is but I will assume you mean a tape drive as you are able to switch between write protect and writable. At the boot of the tape cartridge you should find a button that moves from side to side. You should be able to see "write" on side and when you move the switch you should see "Protect". If this is not the media form you are usings, repost with what type of media you are using. Good Luck.

Can't detect Hard drive

Hello,Be sure to check your cable connection both at the drives and the motherboard. You may have to swicth then out with known good cable. If you do use new cable and get the same results, you may have a bad hard drive. Also, after checking the cable connection, recheck your BIOS setting to make sure the system 'see' the hard drives.Good Luck.C2Solutions

Hi i have a Dell

Hello,

There could be many things that could cause your halt problem. From my experiencew ith servers the first thing I would do is try resetting your BIOS setting to default. Also, reset the jumpers to clear out the CMOS and retry your install.

Keep us posted. Good Luck

Cannot boot from usb. dell

Try entering the BIOS (usually by hitting F2 or Delete during the boot up sequence) and looking under the boot menu for the USB drive. Some older systems cannot boot from USB. You might have improperly formatted the USB drive. What are you trying to boot into?

How to reser cmos password

Hello, You should be able to get into the bios and reset within.
Failing that .... power off the unit. Disconnect the servers power supply cable. i.e. make sure it is not connected to mains power. remove the covers. on the motherboard is a cmos battery .... remove it. wait a few minutes for the cmos to drain.
perform the reverse of the above.
when you poweron ... the date time will need to be reset. cmos password should also be reset.

Hard drive not detected

you will need to download the RAID drivers from the Dell website
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R74082&SystemID=PWE_PNT_P3C_2450&os=WNT5&osl=en&deviceid=1374&devlib=0&typecnt=5&vercnt=7&formatcnt=2&fileid=126163 and load them onto a floppy drive.

Then when installing the server press F6 to install other drivers this will load the PEC drivers and W2k3 will then see your drives

Do not try to load the drivers from a USB as W2k3 is "preset" to only accept drivers from a floppy drive unlike WIndows server 2008

Hope this helps

Hello,

Yes, Server 2008 will install on the 2650 as long as you make sure you have enough RAM and hard drive space. Once you have Server 08 installed, you will have a to-do list to help with setting up hyper-v.

Good Luck

Bootup Problem - Dell Poweredge 2650

Process of elimination? I first thought it may be a power problem but I could not understand the LED flashing (It still maybe a power problem) If you can leave on charge for 4-5 hours more if you can make sure the light is not flashing (That is turn the laptop off at the power switch) Try turning on after being on charge for as long as you can If that does not work it may be the bios with the wrong setting or the Hard Drive is faulty (The more I think about it I think it may the the last issue) Try the other steps first the turn on holding the DELETE button it (I think that is the button to access the bios ) This with work if the Hard is Good or bad)
