Blocked print head

INK PROBLEM Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head. You maybe lucky with this - INKJET PRINT HEAD CLEANING FLUID http://www.pcx.com.au/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=1099 http://www.amazon.co.uk/PRINTER-CLEANING-RECOVERY-FLUID-100ML/dp/B001EN9W2Y

Ink won't dry

If you are trying to print on normal transparent film then the ink will not dry, it needs to be special transparent file for inkjet printers.

Service required error number 00010033. The sensor

Just fixed this today. Ink from head cleaning is dripping down on the idler gear that runs the exit rollers. The ink gets thicker as it dries and makes the idler gear (attached to a swing arm) to not sweep up into position. The sensor on the left does not trigger, causing the error. Follow the epson_4000_field_repair.pdf to remove right cover, push down on green head release button to move printhead to left. Remove one screw that holds recovery funnel (left square plastic). Have fun cleaning partially dried overflowed ink in gear area. I removed the E-clip and removed the idler arm to clean completely. If adventurous, remove 4 screws holding print capping mechanism (way down) with a long driver and move slightly to the right to allow the two larger nylon gears to be removed. Clean all you can including the funnel and reassemble. Be sure to open up the drip slot from the maintenance tank side so the problem does not repeat

I just bought an Epson

hi

i do agree with you. all i can say is stick with HP for printers and Lenovo/IBM for computers

my suggestion is to sell this Epson on ebay or kijiji and buy the HP M1212nf , all in one laser printer whose toner costs about $20 Cdn form 3rd party HP approved toner maker. This printer has toner which allows you to print 1600 pages
and its cost is only $180 Cdn, new .

please send me 4 thumbs up

It seems to be catching and making a noice when it

I don't know if this will help or not. Remove the paper and look on the bottom where the print head runs across and you will see several small plastic insets that feel like felt. They soak up ink over time and will become hard. I had one curled up and it sounded like the print head was clicking on the side and I had an obvious issue on the left side of the paper. This occurred only with large prints. This is a small plastic film and i just removed the one damaged piece and kept on printing, problem solved or at least put off until the reason for that part is made evident.

New to epson stylus pro

Hi arthur,

The error message "0001001D" that you're encountering is related to a carriage movement. In some cases like paper jams, the locking carriage tab may be partially pushed in that causing the carriage locking mechanism to put a drag on the carriage or lock the carriage completely. This often cause a carriage error. To resolve this problem, please follow the steps below.

1. Please make sure that the carriage locking tab is pulled to the left.

2. Now, turn the printer's power off and release the carriage by pushing down on the cutter blade.

3. Slide the carriage to the left and look for any paper that also may be restricting the carriage from moving freely.

4. The T-Fence may also be dirty or out of the carriage encoder. Check to make sure it is clean and in the center of the encoder.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

WHEN PRINTING FROM CS3 ILLUSTRATOR DIRECTLY TO OUR

Try reducing the amount of ink coverage. For instance, instead of using Rich Black (60/60/60/100) try using True Black (0/0/0/100).

Have you changed print materials lately? The amount of ink coverage could be causing the edges of your material to roll up and prevent the the ink from being sprayed properly.
