Kodak ESP Office 6150 All-in-One Printer Questions & Answers
I need to update my firmware on my kodak esp office 6150
I am sorry, but the statement you made makes no sense at all. What does a firmware upgrade have anything to do with ink cartridges being stuck? Firmware upgrades DO need to occur from time to time, if there are bug issues that need to be addressed, or if the machine needs to be brought up to date for a newer OS and/or software packages. However, for the majority of folks, a firmware upgrade is never needed. The risks associated with performing it often outweigh the benefits. There always exists the very real possibility that any error that occurs during the upgrade process will "brick" the device, rendering it useless. Just because a newer firmware version exists for a device, don't assume it to be the fix-all for every problem the device has. If the ink is stuck in the printer, chances are the problem lies somewhere other than the firmware.
Printer reads Error/Printhead cartridge jam. There is nothing jammed in the mechanism. Carriage does not move central when chamber opened.
It's certainly possible that the rails that the printhead runs on needs fresh lubrication or the position sensor has become dirty.
Lubricate the rails with very light oil, such as sewing-machine oil. Clean the positioning "tape" carefully, use glass cleaner, not solvents, as solvents can remove the positioning marks; careful, it's fragile.
Best way to lubricate the rails is to open the printer so the head travels to the center, and unplug from the wall while the head is centered. Now you can move the head by hand, and see how hard it is to move it.
Www kodak com go support
We threw our 6150 into the trash (Florida does not recycle electronics) because it would not print correctly, even after we installed a new printhead and all new cartridges.
I recommend you cut your losses.

Here's how I fixed my Kodak AIO 6150.
- 1. Remove cartridges
- 2. Remove the print head - lift up on the grey tab just above the bullseye - it'll pop right out - no tools needed.
- 3. Soak in alcohol - NOT RUBBING alcohol - Isopropyl 91% only for 1-2 hours - shake often.
- 4. Let it dry for at least 2-3 hours.
- 5. Reinstall everything. You'll get a new printhead message.
