Gigabyte k8m800-8237 wont boot with hard drive

sound like you either have a dead SATA socket on the board, use another one, or at worst try a PATA hard drive, second thought is possibly go into the bios and make sure you have no previous hardware raid arrays left behind, sounds odd.. but i have seen it cause similar problems before.

Front Panel to Board. Color Matching of Wires

You can download the manual for your motherboard from Gigabyte here. This will show you the pinout for the front panel connector. If there are no marked connectors on the wires from the front panel, you'll need to remove the panel and follow the wires back to the switches and LEDs. It's usually not difficult to do this as the panel is normally held on with a few screws or simply snaps onto the case.

Good luck! Hope this has helped you, and thanks for using Fixya!

DDR2 Ram allergic problem....

When using different kinds of RAM together in the same computer, there is a general rule that the Slowest Ram has to occupy the first slots (the ones closest to the CPU and usually numbered on the Motherboard)

This is possibly the cause of your ram error although they're both 400Mhz, just try re-arranging them.
I think the Ram Error Code is two long beeps and the video error is one long beep and three short beeps.

Also, watch the Ram counter when you first turn the computer on, or check the "My Computer" properties to see that all the RAM installed is recognized.

Motherboard is shot, Heat ruined parts around processor.

I have found that desktop cases can accept motherboards from various manufacturers. There are a several mounting holes/screws on the base and these are standard mounting positions. Some of the mounting screws may need to be moved to accommodate the motherboard.
Just pick a motherboard that suits your requirements.

My computer will not boot. the power comes on for

Hi jm54,

There could be many things that could stop the board from turning on, Determining what is wrong is like detective work. What I do, is take everything off the board to start. Then add the minimum to start a board to see if it will start. That's one drive (cd or otherwise) the CPU, and one bank of memory. (that's not a required eliminate, but it helps avoid beep codes) Also, make sure you have your pin's set on the board absolutely correct, or that could be your problem to begin with. Also, if your going to load a ide drive, make sure you set your pin setting correctly on it. Now, you should get the power supply on, and the cpu. If those don't power up, it's then either one of the five elements. The CPU, Power supply, Ram, Drive, or the motherboard. The next step is to replace each one of the first four with another to see if you get any change. Also, on the drive, try a different cable to make sure it's not that, If no change, then I usually get another board that I can test the first four, and make sure that they work. If after that and you have tested all of the components and they all work, then it's save to say you have a Dead Board
.
Good Luck and don't forget to leave a rating.
Thanks
Mark

In my pc audio is not working. there is error

Go into the BIOS (by pressing the key, usually delete, noted on startup in <PRESS ____ TO ENTER SETUP> or a similar message)
Look throug the menus for 'Integrated Peripherals' and press enter. In this menu there should be 'onboard audio', 'onboard sound', "AC'97" or something similar, with <disabled> next to it. Navigate to this menu item, and pres +,- or enter to change this to <enabled>, after which you press F10, followed by Y (to exit and save).
If this option was already in 'enabled' mode, restart your computer and download and install the audio driver using the following link: http://America.giga-byte.com/FileList/Driver/motherboard_driver_audio_realtek_whql.exe

Too much memory for Giga-Byte K8M800-8237

The issue of this is not too much capacity on your memory., i tell you the problem is incompatible both of them. Check again your memory and what brand are there.
Because something motherboard settings are being notify if reliable to you to use different kind of RAM you have. Read the motherboard manual to find out some settings to enable both of them are not the same brand or model.

Pc No sound after format

How did u save it ? Usually dell provide drivers in EXE format and they are autmatically extracted. I think u saved without extension. You should rename the file and named exactly like that sounddriver.exe and try to open it. If still not working try to open the file with WINRAR, download it from www.rarlab.com

I want to know that , for BIOS updates in

I don't know how old is your Gigabyte Board, but the motherboard is not an invention that was exclusively for computers. The motherboard idea was generated for the defense electronic industry. Now what they had in mind with the jumpers, is not clear to me. I know for instance that the jumpers were calibrated to change the chip voltage 0.1V per step, but probably you are right. For a given frequency and speed that a computer is designed for, there is one setting of the jumpers. Now, if somebody wanted to change the frequency up or down then it would be necessary to change the settings of the jumpers. Thank you for your consideration and choice of our service. My name is Cosntantin (arzconst is my internal nickname for Fixya.com).
