The problem is called "convergence" You can get the repair kit here: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-KP-57WS510-KP57WS510-Convergence-Repair/dp/B006B9NN1W I don't recommend that you do this repair if you are not electronically inclined.

Look in the menu systems. Somewhere in there is a gun aiming tool. Some tvs require this at each start up, annoying, but worth the effort.

On that model I believe you need an original Sony projection remote or one of the "magic tv remotes" that support the convergence function.

Your convergence has failed. This is a very common problem on most projection tv sets. did you check and replace the two pico fuses on the G board and also the six pico fuses on the D board? If so double check the solder often a pins mounting ring will lift up during the removal and prevent solder connection when doing the install.

While the set is prone to bad tubes a double or 3d like image is convergence--this model uses two of the STK-392-560 CHIPS for this.Go into customer menu and call up convergence--if off and will not adjust in any area of the screen the chips are bad.

The wire is the HV lead to the block or HV splitter.

At the splitter pull rubber boot back and press down and turn wire and it will come loose.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Can you be more specific? Do you mean the color tints are wrong or is the color out of alignment ( 3D appearance)?

Usually what happens is that the convergence IC goes bad or the fuse going to the convergence ic goes bad. Pico fuses they are called sometimes open up. You may want to open it up and pull the board out and check the solder connections on the convergence IC. Sometimes these get fractured or cold soldered and aren't making connection to the PC board.
Let me know if you feel comfortable with pulling TV chassis out or pulling the board that has the convergence IC on it out. Then you can resolder convergence IC OR replace it.First thing i would do is check to make sure there is between 22vdc and 25vdc on the fuse or the convergence IC.
