No sound

HelloFirst check whether sound control has been muted or not. If muted, as you know, there will be no output from the speakers. If not muted, and still no sound, there are two possibilities. The first one is of speaker, and the second one is with the audio output IC inside the circuitCheck its speaker first. you can check the speakers with the help of a multimeter, of with a torch cell. If speakers are found OK, and still there is no sound output, the audio output IC is faulty and shoul be replaced with same number . The number of the audio output IC for your tV is [TA8265K]. This IC can be located at the main board of your tV. If you have eneough knoledge and tools to do the job, you can replace it at home.If you want anymore assistance from me, inform me by FixYa comment box. I've all the repair details about your tV with me. OK.

Lost red tint

I had the same TV in my shop about last winter. The same problem, only it was missing the blue tint. If you can remove the small board from the CRT (picture tube), check the small diodes on this board. An NTE 519 will cross as a replacement. You will of course check three diodes and will find that one of these are bad. Please inspect any and all grounds on this CRT board. Resolder as necessary. And....of course you may as well pull out the main board. The deflection IC Q301 will need resoldered as well (vertical IC). Check the capacitors near and next to Q301, they will be weak and cause problems soon. May sound difficult for a first timer. Just maintenance for us old timers. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

My Toshiba 27AF41 TV is all greens & blues. I

Did you eliminate the simple and obvious first? Change the cables and the devices you are connecting to the television to see if they are at fault to rule out faulty cables and/or a faulty signal source. If the device connected to the television is not the problem and the cables connecting the device to the television are not the problem you will need to engage the local repair shop to complete the soldering for you.

My Toshiba 36a61 has lost all red tint.

unfortunately it is not easy to replace parts in a tv. it is very high voltage inside and is just not worth it especially when you dont know what is going to go next. it could be a couple of different things and you need the right diagnostic tools to identify the part. try this link http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=2123062

or try this link http://www.slickdeals.net for really cheap prices on lcd tvs. you can get one for under 500 or tvs like yours are dime a dozen at goodwill for under 100 bux or check your local classifieds.

Cannot clear the closed caption off screen

go to your menu and turn it off. Or, turn your tv off and unplug it give it 5 minutes to let it reset so it doesnt keep it stored, and turn it back on.

Depends on TV i guess.

good luck.

Remote i on tv

From elsewhere... in case it helps

"...and an intermittent problem responding to the
remote. I had a service person check it out and was going to have it
repaired because it still looks and sounds very good. The part was
available at a cost of about $85-90 plus about $40 for the service.
However, the service person didn't want to come back again for
another service call because I was too far and it was not profitable
for him, so the part was never replaced.

The remote control is OK. It is the receiving module in the TV that
has a low voltage problem. If anyone is electronically handy it
probably is an easy fix to install a new module or it can be use
without the remote with the buttons on the TV."

No pic..or sound

a lot of times when a set is dropped the printed circuit board gets cracked, the only way to tell is to remove the back and printed circuit board and check; if not too badly damaged can be 'hard wired' across breaks and fixed

Remote Problems

Put new batteries in and try again. Sometimes the IR sender may also not be working properly due to a loose connection.
I would also suggest to open the remote and clean the contacts using alcohol. Rub the contacts on the key pad and remote gently.
Hope this works.

Color sudden change

Good day.
Your unit is still worth. It may be a caused of loose contacts along the circuitry. It can be remedied by resoldering the terminals particularly the chroma section and the crt circuit.

Tv

Good day.

The problem with your unit is that when your tube was replaced, it was not degaussed or demagnitized. The purpose of such is to distribute the color evenly unto the entire television matrix.
You can try to demagnetized it by rotating a magnet around the surface( but not so near) of the picture tube while it is operating.

Also, please check for the degaussing coil around the rear portion of the tube was returned and also check for loose contacts.

Vertical sweep failure.
It will be an I.C. with a part number that probably starts with an LA_ _ _ _ and be on a heat sink in the vicinity of the connector going up to the yoke. Try replacing that. But first, check all the electrolytic caps around it for testing dry (sorry - takes a special meter to do it in circuit) or just replace them. May have lost power to the I.C. as well. Look the I.C. up in the free NTE crossreference at nteinc.com get a diagram of its pinout to find what pins the power and outputs are on.
Hope ya fix it!

Tv trouble

Sorry, I can't help you with the computer password issue but I can help you with the TV.

The problem you are having is a vertical deflection problem. The screen is being compressed to a thin white line. It's probably a defective vertical output module or transistor. This part is not too expensive. Less likely would be a vertical deflection coil, which would be more expensive because its usually glued to the picture tube and harder to replace. You'll need to take your set to service center to have it serviced.

Good Luck!

Click click repeatedly faded then red blinking light

Go to the video menu and turn the color control to minimum. Determine if you have a black & white picture or is it green & white. If the picture is greenish, you have a problem in the screen circuit or possibly a bad picture tube. If the black & white is ok then I would suspect a problem in the chroma circuit such as a bad video jungle IC or a crystal. However, because your set had a red blinking issue prior to your existing condition I would lean towards the picture tube as the source or your troubles. You can try a simple test to determine if you have an intermittant short . Take the back off the set, and with the insulated end of your screw driver, very very lightly tap on the neck of the picture tube near the socket. If you see green flashes or hear loud snaps in conjunction with your taps or the green tint goes away, chances are the tube is the cause. If so, you might try installing an isolation transformer on the picture tube. Good luck

URGENT!!!!!

If you are familiar with tv service we can start by checking the relay itself for loose conections and while you are looking at the solder conections check for any other overheated areas in the board that might need resolder, handling a 36" tv is not easy and you will need help, you can put it face down on a piece of carpet big enough for the face of the picture tube then remove the back and the chassis will stay in place, sit it up like normal and turn it on,tap with a wooden or rubber handle in different areas of the chassis to see if it reacts while is on or the relay starts chattering, towards or in the the back of chassis is the high voltage transformer with a thick red wire coming out from the top to the back of the picture tube, this is the high voltage lead and you need to stay away from it.If the set reacts to the tapping be attentive of the area bacause is there where you need to look for anything loose, the other possibility is a bad relay and it will need to be replaced if you dont find anything loose. If you are not too familiar with tv service be safe and call for assistance from a servicer. Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
