the cover switch is probably not fully made.
Ensure that the cover tangs are pushing the pin
on the miniswitches.
Try putting slight pressure on the fan or lamp cover to see if the lamp/cover light
stops flashing.
you will need to do a restart on the PJ to check this out

There may be a dust fleck on one of the LCD screens inside your projector. I had a similar problem and managed to clean it. But it requires you to dissassemble the entire projector !!!. If you are not technical, don't do this yourself. !!!

Pls open the Lamp unit and check it if it is giving the power indication on the panel.

Give input signal to the projector and see that if the menu appears or not on the screen.
if menu comes on the screen then put the backgroung color to blue, instaed of black.

if nothing comes on the screen, then the LCD panels are faulty.

ive got the same problem if showing a white background. i can see parts that are a bit purple...
when i got a new lamp today the problem is not as intense anymore. when i looked at the lamp i was able to see some dirt that had been burned into the glas in front of the bulb. it had approximately the same color. since i just bought a bulb and installed it into the case of the first lamp, which doesnt have that color burned into the glas, the problem is way smaller than before.

im not sure if thats the reason - but might be a solution...

the "please replace the lamp" text disappeared but the lamp timer is still on the same, but i am still satisfied that the big red text on the screen is gone :P

You have to go to the settings on the projector and reset the lamp timer.. Go to your on screen menu and go to settings.. Good Luck

Ebay is a good place to buy those kinds of parts from.

probably the lamp could be failing
or check the fan'lamp cover switches are being 'made'

I´m having the same problem, the picture looks fine, just to much blue color!?!

Give Power to projector, press Reset, Left, right,Enter from remote.

Power on the unit and check timer.

you must change the lens. the cost is high. see the sony site for replace the parts.

Problem resolved by swapping the video cable, simple really!
