your focus screws need to be adjusted each light has a power and focus screw above them under the main front panel usually in plane sight this is sometimes time consuming if done by yourself do to making an adjustment than standing up walking away and seeing what happened so having someone around to just watch what is getting better or worse is very helpful

If those green lights on the board are going dim, then yes it should be repaired. This is likely a bad main filter capacitor on the primary side of the switch mode transformer. Should not cost over $150 at the most. Easy fix

If you ring Hitachi they should have repair service business. They should be able to tell you where and if not go to another electronic shop most of them are good (you got a bad one).

How do you program you tv with out a remote
Hi, if their is a "menu" button on the front panel of the set go into the menu and look for "autoprogram", perform this function and it will add the other channels, I would strongly advise you to purchase the original remote if you have lost it, there are several repairs that a tech will need the original remote to finish the repair, (it`s needed to access the factory service mode), email me if you still have questions, BMW Rider

I'd unplug/disconnect the Roku and after 30 seconds try the control button on the back. If you can change the input do so, then plug the Roku back in. Until you use the input button on the back to change input to Roku, you should be able to use the other buttons on the back to control the TV. If this does not work, unplug both the TV and the Roku. Wait maybe a minute, then plug the TV back in and follow the above instructions. Hitachi LE42S704 none of the HDMI ports work, need to update (i think)
Are you getting the various HDMI inputs on the screen but it acts like nothing is connected? We have repaired hundreds of TV's with no HDMI signal over the years and have never had an update correct this issue. There is an IC close to the HDMI input jacks (U501) that decodes the data, that's always been the defective part. You can order the part and change it but you will need advanced soldering skills and the equipment to do it, I'd recommend replacing the main board if you can find one.
