I had to replace my lamp bulb in my mitsubishi wd-60638 tv and now i have a picture again but it is fickering and greenish tint to the screen

If you tried a cheap bulb then that might be the problem as some of the bulb carrage may not be complete4lyto spec. I had one that was close but there was a gap between bulb and where it fits. I went with a bulb dealer that had I believe a 1 year warrante and I have had no problems. I had a 73838 tv set.

I have a mitsubishi tv model wd 60638 I changed the lamp. Tv works fine for about 20 minutes then I start to smell like something is burning then picture starts to flicker, what could could cause this

You have a bad connector in the lamp. Stop running the TV immediately and contact the company you purchased the lamp from. this is common in older DLP tvs but not in one 5 years old unless you have a lot of hours on it. the connector can crack and arc inside the plug and then melt and smell terrible. It usually very repairable if you can get a ballast for it. the plug is part of the ballast.

I changed the lamp in my tv, after replacing it tv runs about 15 minutes picture starts to fliker then I can smell like its burning

Sounds like its lamp inverter board too is faulty. Replace it. It is a good practice that the inverter board and lamp should replace at one time. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Mitsubishi WD-60638 firmware

Make sure software was in top menu in USB stick. Not ib a folder. Try reset buttons on front of TV. Could be bad e2p module. (boot firmware.)

Wd60636

Never really had that issue the one I worked on Operated normally for 20 minutes and then shut down completely. The fix for that is to get the OEM bulb instead of the replacement

Sound works no picture

DLPs are a old technology. If could be the bulb or the spinning mirror. Cheaper to get a new flatscreen TV that to fix.

Replaced lamp. Powered up TV,, after 6 minutes picture started to blink. Cleaned dust out of the two muffin fans that were visible. I also cleaned the cooling fins aft the smaller of the two fans. Pow

If you get one that has the correct airflow and RPM along with the proper voltage and such, but I would try on Ebay first.
