this tv is analouge only no freeview. if you do not have a problem with the picture through sky then try a cheap digi box

You need to take the back of and check and see if the F connector is a seperate piece, or attach to the tuner, if attached to tuner, then you are looking at a new tuner, if seperate, you might get the piece at MCM electronics. www.mcmelectronics.com or www.partstore.com

check the format is it 16 x9 stretched ?

if the tv is old i presume it does not have a digital decoder buit in.you may have a stand alone digital box .if so try the box on a different aerial if it works ok here then get your aerial checked

this is an error code and the flashing points the engineer to the fault area

Had costumer reset TV,leaving it unpluged.

Most likely fault is the power supply. This is not user repairable and should only be repaired by a competent electronics engineer.

this tv will work in the uk on freeview but the interactive tv will not work

Hello Chris, Hi, your TV's power supply section is not functioning properly. If the fuse is in good shape, then the auxiliary power section of the power supply is not functioning, this section powers the switching oscillator and IC that sends the pulse to the switching element like power transistors to create a main secondary voltage. the main secondary voltage is the circuit that produces all voltage needed source by the TV. what you can do if you are up to it.
A. Visualize any bulging capacitors, replace them. B. Measure the voltage across the following section in particular order so we can find the faulty parts.

1. the AC input on the Power supply board. (none means open switch or power cable)
2. the AC after the line filter circuit. (none means open line filter)
3. the DC on the filter capacitor. (none means problem on the rectifier)
4. then the AC on the switching element or input on the main transformer. (most likely you won't have any voltage reading hear.)if you do have continue.... (none means you scratch your head, this is the hardest part) check all low value resistors, high wattage resistors open or shorted diodes.
5. the dc on the secondary filter capacitors.

If not have this checked by a technician, its to complicated for you.

Make sure that the remote is working by pointing your remote to a IR sensor or use the phone camera to detect -- open the phone camera/digital camera and show the remote with button pressed on to the camera as it will be displayed if IR works.
If so then the IR detector in the TV must be taken out , checked and replaced. You can measure the incident voltage on the IR sensor in the TV if present but not sensing it is faulty but if working without any action then the processor is also a suspect.

if there is a VGA input available on LCD then conect VGA cable 15/15 mean 15 pins are active and connect it with pc.

this is a fault and should be seen to by an engineer
