Hi,
You tv is a crt one , that means there will be three crt guns inside your tv. Check the base socket of all the three crt guns. if the base socket have some problem the picture will become out of focus.
That why there is two images. Just change the three base sockets of crt guns, will solve your problem.

Its almost always a convergance inverter that has burned out. The IC chips as they are called aren't too cheap, Even the repair shop would suggest a new tv as a cheaper route in the long run. To make your set reliable again the convergance board needs to be rebuilt with all new chips, and pico fuses.

that part is discontinued and no longer available the part number is 6871VSMA97E you may be able to find a used one.

Had the same problem with my Zenith TV. Convergence was all out of whack. I purchased a repair Kit from www.TvRepairKits.com The kit had all the parts and simple step by step photos of the repair. At first the repair did not work so I emailed them and within an hour they told me to check two other items. Sure enough they were right! The set is now working perfectly. You guys rock!

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

WHAT DO I DO FOR MY AUTO CONVERG IT NOT ON MY SETUP OR MY PIC AT ALL MY TV IS OUT OF LINE BAD

Hello, some of the replacement STK ics do not hold up, if you are able to take the replacement ics out and replace them with the original ics that were in the TV you'll probably verify this or check the pc side of the convergence panel for solder bridges between pins or solder splash some where else on the board.

The color curcuit for the red spectrum has blown or has a loose wire. This is the most likely cause of both problems, colors will darken if one color fails because the true color has all three displaying. When one color disappears, the rest seem dull.
I would suggest having the wires on the red relay checked to see if a fuse has blown or whether the wire itself has just blown...

Try this with TV off Press and Hold CH- and Vol- at the same Time untill TV comes on then release ,Now you should be in factory settings,set should do AutoConvergence .

Open fuse on the deflection board,located on the right side of your FBT flyback Transfomer their is 3 of then in a roll small brown rectrangler looking caps but they are fuses it will be the one in the middle 0.06amps

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

Its a convergence problem. You can get complete parts and instructiosn for this fix from www.TvRepairKits.com. They put together a kit for this. I used them for a convergence problem recently and they helped me fix my set.
