Lite On LVW-5006 DVD Recorder Questions & Answers
Can't get door open
Hello,
You can solve the problem by opening the dvd recorder, look for the mechanism, on the mechanism u will see a motor attached with a rubber to rotate the wheel tray of the dvd recorder, check if the rubber is okay or not , also check the motor that drive the tray in and out, if otherwise the functional board of the dvd recorder is bad, then change the function board , or call a well skilled technician to handle it..
Hope this will help in solving the problem....
I have liteon lvw 5006,
good day sir...
your
problem is on the ejecting motor,.The broken rubber that connected to
the mechanism or on the motor itself...You have to do
is....
first,Open the cover by removing all screws that holds the cover
secondly,Try to remove the lens assembly one set including the CD tray..by unscrew the lock of that mechanism...
thirdly,Try to see the ejecting motor if the rubber is okay and remove the
motor to check the resistance weather it good or bad the reading is not
more than 25 ohms or or try the actual testing using a 1.5v battery if
the motor spin up that's good
fourthly,But when you found the trouble like on steps 2 and 3..replace immediately on the same type and ratings...its either motor or the rubber
And finally,if you found the defects re-assemble it and test it again...
Reminders;Pay attention to the alignment of the mechanism assembly to eject the DVD smoothly..
thank you and good luck.
Hi,
I have had my DVD
The "Video Ouput" option is used to choose what connection you will be using to connect the DVD recorder to your television. The "component" output is for High Definition televisions that use the three colored rca jack outputs(green, blue, and yellow). If your television is a High Definition capable tv then you can use a "component cable" to hook up this way. The "S-video" connection is a standard definition video connection that uses a s-video cable. You can use this connection if your TV has one and is not High Definition. The "RGB" output is a connection most commonly used on computer monitors and projectors. The "progressive" selection turns on and off the progressive scan output of the "component" outputs. This option is for High Definition televisions. You will leave it to progressive if your TV is 1080P capable(display resoloution) or disabled if it is 1080i only. "NTSC" and "PAL" are two different video signals. The "NTSC" is a signal mainly used by the United States and "PAL" is used by most of Europe and the rest of the world. If you are not in the US then most likely it will need to be set to PAL. The DVD recorder has a built-in cable tuner but might not be compatible with your television signal if it is digital or satellite. You will need to hook up your cable box or satellite reciever to the DVD recorder via the cable connection and tune it to channel 3 or 4. Then you should be able to record whatever channel you have your cable box or sattelite reciever tuned to. And no on your last question. You will only be able to watch what you are recording because that feature is available on a DVR not a DVD recorder. Let me know if you have any more questions.
I have recorded a TV programme to the Hard Drive.
I used the edit function. I fast forwarded to the end of the section I wanted to record. I then stop the fast forward and used the split function. This split the original recording into two parts - the first 1hr 38min which I wanted to keep and the rest. It saved as two files and I was able to copy the first part to DVD and discard the rest.

Do i need remote
Yes you can't finalize without a remote. These units use a RM 51 remote. You can find one ebay or you can get a new one at Litetrekinternational.
Tray will not open
ok first off, throwing it away is a terrible solution! it is an easyfix!
you get it to open by doing the following,
reset the unit by unplugging it and plugging it back in
imediatly afterward that push the "eject" button and lightly tap the top of the player just above the door
when it opens, unplug the unit (the drawer must remain out!
gently romove the face by pulling the middle away from the drawer and lifting up (BE CAREFUL, IF YOU BREAK IT, THROW IT AWAY, THE LASER IS DANGEROUS TO YOU IF EXPOSED!!! SO AGAIN BE CAREFULL!!!
loosen the scews on the door by a 3/4 turn each
put the cover back on the drawer
plug the unit in,
presto, it works like new!!
enjoy...
