How about disconnecting your pond lite, and then trying your dryer? Usually pond lights are wired with some sort of ground fault protection. And this will trip immediately if there's another source...especially a heating source with a motor. Its the motor that senses the gfi, and trips it. I'd disconnect the pond light from the dryer, and then try it. If it works fine, then get another power source (not linked to the dryer) to run the pond light and see how it works. I believe when you separate their power sources, you should be fine. Try this, and then let me know if you have success, or need some more guidance. But I'm most sure this is it. You are correct they do lose the output over time. .Not knowing the specific type or brand of the panels the following is a general over all reply. The manufacturer will give the specific amounts the panels will lose their efficiency. Newer panels I believe will 2-4% the first year then something like 1% per year. Newer panels usually have a life of 20 years. I am not sure about the smaller panels you have but I would guess they may be a little faster especially if your putting them up and down constaly. Also make sure you clean them, that will make a very substantial difference especially since they are smaller in size and I am sure you know that shade on ANY PART of the panel may eliminate total sections of the panel producing power, depending on the type of [panels you have. Also check for scratches where you might be able to light through the panels as that may affect the output. I would suggest a google search for manufacturer and model # and then review the spec sheets for the item.
