There is a error in TV.Count how many times blinking the red light.

• Unit is dead, No blinks - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open).
  
• Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective.
  
• One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis
  
• Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.
  
• Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
• Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505
  
• Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
  
• Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
  
• Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
  

• Eight GA_googleFillSlot("TL-IMU-Article"); blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board. • Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive).
• Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" boards
  

Do you have a "cable-box" that feeds your TV? Some older cable-boxes cannot decode the newer 'MPEG4' (compressed video) video that some cable-companies use for some of the channels. So, you get "black-screen", since the audio-stream is NOT compressed. Talk to your cable-company, to upgrade to the newest cable-box.

If the issue is unresolved, please follow the additional steps given below to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Make sure that you have connected the source to the Television properly and securely.

2. Unplug the power cord of the unit from the wall outlet for few minutes, then connect it to a different wall outlet and check the operation.

3. Connect the video source to a different input on the Television and check the operation.

4. Connect a different video source to the Television and check the operation.

5. Replace the connecting cable and check the operation.

6. Reset the TV to factory settings. To reset your TV to factory settings, turn the TV ON. Then, while pressing the UP ARROW or RESET button on the remote control, press the POWER button on the TV. The TV will turn itself OFF then back ON.

I would suggest that you check ribbon connections between t-con and LCD panel. Also I would have you power supply checked. Unclean sources from the power supply can cause all kinds of strange video problems. If the power supply checks out fine, and the t-con/LCD panel ribbon connections are ok, I would suspect a faulty LCD panel. You can try replacing the t-con, they should be cheap enough to take the gamble. But if you don't want to gamble, get a diagnoses done on the set.

Better hope it is not a actual problem as not cheap to fix--first thing to do is with set off--unplug for a while and plug back to see if a reboot will or will not help.

Hi, shutdown with a 3x blink pattern occurs if the 12v from the power supply (GF1 or GF2 depending on model) is lost at CN6153/pin 6 to the AU Board Q1224 to Sub Micro IC1205. The suspects, in order of likelihood, are (1) Power supply and (2) the AU board.

The screen cost more than the entire TV, better to get a new TV instead. You can try posting an add on Ebay to sell it for parts... Also you can try calling local repair shops in your area see if they may have a used LCD panel for your TV at a reasonable price.

some of the newer tv's require drivers to be able to become a monitor if that's not what it was originally meant to be, try going to the sony site then under your model download the drivers.

If there deep scratches you need to replace the outter layer and that could get expensive. Now if there small scratches a lcd repair kit would work. You can get those on line for the fraction of the replacment of the lcd screen.
