My dishwashers main soap supply

I am assuming you have a manual detergent dispenser in your dishwasher. It will be helpful if you can provide the full model no. eg. PDW8400J00BB.
That way I can better identify the dispenser type in your dishwasher.

it is possible something (detergent built up etc) is blocking the hinge or spring movement of the door.

But if your dishwasher has the smartdispense automatic dispenser then it is a screw on cap. Please confirm which one you have. Some models have both.

GE profile dishwasher won't drain. It has happened

Hi

If you can hear a humming noise, then that is the problem due to pump. The pump gets energized but not rotating probably due to something stuck in the impeller. Check for that impeller unit and try to replace it.
A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Thank you !!

The GE Profile Dishwasher does not drain

Uncouple the drain hose connection under the sink and use a wet/dry vacuum to **** out the drain hose and the stub on the sink drain plumbing to clear any possible clogs. There may be a blocked check valve near the pump that might have to be cleaned or replaced. Check the hose itself for any kinks or collapsed section. There might be a damaged drain impeller on the pump. Hope this helps!

Water will not drain from unit

You need to check the drain hose first. Make sure that it isn't kinked or blocked and that water is flowing through it properly.

If the hose is ok then the problem is likely to be with the drain pump and it will need looking at.

you need to open up the machines control panel and start checking grounds, then you may also need to check for corrosion on all inner door, and lower motor/pump unit connections.,any high-resistance or corroded connections in the lower unit, grounds are a large factor in proper operation of the unit, corroded connections lead to signal backfeed looking for another ground path, even if all looks good upon dis-assembly STILL wiggle the connections as they can look good and hide corrosion

Dishwasher will not drain. Used compressed air and

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

The pump on my GE Profile dishwasher is not draining.

If it is the last cycle only it is not the pump. It is a wiring or timer issue. Most likely the timer.

DIshwasher Cycle TIme INcreases by 20 minutes over two years

Try cutting the breaker off for 5 min, This will reset the control. The issue is in order for a dishwasher to clean the dishes properly the water in the dishwasher needs to be at least 120 deg f. If its not the dishwasher keeps adding more time with the heater on to try to achieve this temp. The dishwasher only uses about 1 gallon of water per fill so if the water heater is a ways away or the temp is not hot enough, the water temp in the dishwasher will not reach 120.

Backup of foul smelling water into the dishwasher

Outlet pipe is partially or completely blocked.

Use a dishwasher cleaner in it, but before you even do that, remove outlet pipe from waste pipe - and clear all the gunk out you can.

I suggest a bucket with disinfectant and washing powder to dissolve the grease.

You may need a drain cleaner down the waste pipe too - & flush with hot water and washing powder.

Dirty dishes - junk dishwasher

1.) Put 1 cup of bleach in a bowl and set it on top of the spindles in the bottom-middle of your dishwasher.
2.) Place all glassware that needs to be cleaned, at least as much as you can fit, in the dishwasher like normal. PUT NO METAL IN DISHWASHER!
3.) Run it through the wash cycle, but do not let it go through the dry cycle.
4.) Take out the bowl that contained the bleach, and fill it now with 1 cup white vinegar.
5.) Set the bowl in the same spot and let your dishwasher run through an entire cycle.

Also use a little less detergent - it will help as well.
