Nikon COOLPIX L100 Digital Camera - Page 8 Questions & Answers
How can i slow the shutter speed on my Nikon
technically you cant, the l100 is an all automatic camera, meaning you cant manually set the ISO, aperture, or shutter speed... a good way to slow the shutterspeed would be to autofocus on something similar but darker, then keep that focus for the origonal shot...

Trouble downloading pics from my Coolpix L100
Are your batteries fully charged? Direct Camera to PC transfer uses a lot of power. Some early L100s could not use rechargable batteries - unless you downloaded new firmware fron Nikon. That needs a card-reader. Once you have a card-reader, use this to download the pics, so that the PC supplies all the power.
How do you set the aperture and iso speed for bokeh?
You can't.
ISO setting is part of the program. That determines the aperture and speed. You could arrange to mount a neutral density filter in front to fool the program, but thats about all. The L100 seems to have taken a lot of the decisions away from the user.
Every time i put batteries in the nikon coolpix
please consider the brand of batteries. these cameras use high-strength or industrial strength batteries. normal AA batteries cannot power it for a long time and the batteries may be waek to begin with.
Well i was wondering how i could get a bokeh
hello! Yes, you can since the Coolpix L100 has a 15X telephoto lens, you can use the second method described below.
Bokeh is a photographic term used to describe a lens effect wherein the background of the photo is out of focus. This effect is used to blur out distracting backgrounds and give emphasis to the the primary subject of the photo. There are two ways to get bokeh when taking pictures. The first is by using a very large aperture to get a shallow depth of field. You can set your camera’s aperture to f/5 or below. This will effectively throw everything behind your subject out of focus. You can also blur out the background of your photo by using a long telephoto lens. There is no hard rule on how long your lens should be but the longer its reach, the more pronounced the bokeh is going to be.
