The flash button is the black button to the left of the Menu button, when you are on a call, or the talk button has been pushed to use the handset. It doesn't show when the phone is in standby, but when it is on, it should say Flash in the LCD screen and have an arrow pointing to the button.

Possible that the battery Voltage has gone BELOW the THRESHOLD level and so will take a long time to come up so that the display light ups. It is best to see if the battery is leaked, damaged or the connectors clogged. Test the voltage on the battery and replace if the voltage is low. Also keep the phone plugged on overnight so that the circuit warms up and clears all disturbances.

On the handset of the Panasonic KX-TG5432, once you see the battery icon low (one bar) and flashing, it means you have to recharge it.

Yes. Take a look at the user manual. It is issued as a 3 phone system also. You will have to register the new phone. Here's a link to the manual if you don't have it.

You are having problem with you motherboard or IC, if problem is of IC then it will be inexpensive but if the problem is of Motherboard then Sorry.. it will be expensive.....
Best way is to visit the near service station and before servicing demand quotation from them, They can only tell you exact repairing cost.
