Magnetron replaced. Message: "refer to ops instructions." ???

If it was done by a repair place just take it back and read the riot act to them. Thats NOT acceptable. If you did it yourself, I would guess it wasn't just the magnetron, probably high power diode and other things too.

Stop after 5 seconds

In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer. You can find one here.

NNP-294 Dead

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You should do a continuity test on the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in, then test it again.

If you remove the fuse, then press the meter leads against the ends, it can allow internal contact to be made and make a bad fuse appear to be good.

If you suspect the fuse at all, it's best to replace it.

With the microwave unplugged, if you can easily turn the fuse with your thumb & forefinger while it's in the holder, it has overheated and fatigued and the holder should be replaced.

Simply squeezing the holder's terminals together with pliers is not really a good solution.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

An intermittent door switch will not make the unit intermittently dead, it will only make it not heat, and depending on the model, it will also likely make the turntable and inside light not come on. But again it depends on the model.

You may need to clean and/or realign the door mechanism or door switch mounts.

This is especially true in case a user opens the door while it's cooking without hitting Stop first or slams the door. Both are big no-nos for a microwave.

The main parts that will kill the power are the fuse, fuse holder, or thermostat or thermal cutout, which are usually located on or above the magnetron and on the top of the cooking cavity.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

There is a small ceramic 18A fuse located on the circuit board behind touch pad. You have to remove the top and wrap around panel to get at it. Had same problem, my fuse was ok though. My problem seems maybe in dor switches. http://www.fixya.com/support/t610587-nnp_294_dead

Hope yours is just a fuse. Good luck!

I have a Panasonic genius dimension4 nn-9853

Most probably the low voltage transformer of in the control panel is open . It has a thermal fuse which is between pin1 and pin 5 of the low voltage transformer. This fuse is however inside the transformer. If you get a DC resistance of about 350- 400 ohms between pin 5 and 6 of the transormer , connect an external 500ma fuse between pin 1 and pin5

Microwave Panasonic NN T551 new does not start even after pressing clock button , no display to set clock . Icon comes only. As : after pressing stop button. No other button gives any response

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your Panasonic microwave oven NNT551. If the clock button is not responding and you only see two dots when pressing the stop button, there might be a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Power Cycle the Microwave:
    • Unplug the microwave from the power outlet.
    • Wait for about 30 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and try setting the clock again.
  2. Check for Child Lock:
    • Some microwaves have a child lock feature that can prevent certain buttons from functioning. Check your manual to see if your model has this feature and how to disable it.
  3. Reset to Default Settings:
    • If there is an option in the manual or settings to reset the microwave to its default settings, try doing that.
  4. Inspect for Physical Damage:
    • Ensure there is no physical damage to the control panel or any other part of the microwave that may be affecting its functionality.

How do I cook an individual frozen pie in my Panasonic convection/grill/microwave

To cook an individual frozen pie in your Panasonic convection/grill/microwave, you can follow these steps: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Remove the pie from its packaging and place it on a microwave-safe plate. Place the plate in the center of the microwave and close the door. Press the "Convection" button on your microwave and set the temperature to 375°F. Set the timer for 25 minutes. Press "Start" to begin cooking. After 25 minutes, check if the pie is cooked by inserting a toothpick into the center of the pie. If it comes out clean, your pie is ready! If not, continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes until it is fully cooked. This is a general guide and there might be variance with your particular device.
