Speed sensor is located in front of engine oil dip stick on my o1 rk,in frt of starter motor,my speedo stoped working today, and the sensor has one 7/16 bolt head easy to get to with open end wrench.remove the bolt and slowly wiggle the sensor and lift up and pull out,my sensor was coverd with metel shavings,i wiped it clean with a clean rag,a magnet is also helpful to remove shavings from sensor but the rag worked fine, put the sensor back and bolt it back in,not to tight just good and snug.it fixed my problem.speedo works great again.

If you have put it back the same way you took it out, spin front wheel and have some one watch the speedo needle, if it moves then everything is alright, else take it apart again and ensure everything is in its place. Good?

2001 Harley Davidson Road King. No power to fuel pump, no check engine light, no spark to the plugs.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from 'Power Computers'.

It could be many things, fuses, battery voltage, sensors, ECM etc. Lots of video help and a link to the Harley Davidson Forums.

2001 road king idols high reset computer and actuator works but not for long

If you have had a stealer reflash the ecm I would check the throttle position sensor or air temp sensor. both have been known to keep the bike in high (warm up) idle.

2003 road king speedometer stopped working & the mileage isn't changing either

Check to see if there is any back lighting.

Pull the speed sensor from the transmission case and if there are any metal filings on it clean them off and replace it. If there are not filings you may need to replace the sensor. The speedometer head itself or wiring conneftors could be the porblem as well.
