TPMS light on dashboard of my 2007 Hyundai Sonata with 77,000 miles. First came on 3 hours after I had the the right rear tire repaired with 2 nails in sidewall from independent tire dealer. Took back to Hyundai to reset the system but came back on again after driving 3 hours. Took back to Hyundai dealer again and they replaced the TPMS sensor in the right rear tire. Said they saw evidence of fix-a-flat inside tire but I informed them that I never ever used that. Their computer indicated that I had a bad sensor so it was replaced for a total cost of $115 (parts and labor). It took them 4 hours to get it to reset after they put it in and talking to Hyundai Support. Drove it home and 3 hours later the TPMS light came back on again. The car is going back in 2 days to recheck. Any clues as to what is going on? Until I had the tire repaired the system worked perfectly even showing low tire pressure and I do not know what is going on or what to expect in 2 days.

I don't know enough about the TPMS systems to give you any clue as to what is going on there.

However, it is generally an unacceptable practice to try to repair a tire that has a puncture in the sidewall. The flexing of the sidewall can cause the repair to fail. I would drive very carefully and slowly on a tire that has had such a repair.

The question was about the TMPS light and you gave a lecture about repairing a tire. Why are you trolling?

How do I get the TPMS light on a 2007 Hyundai Sonata to go off? I just had 4 new tires and wheels installed.

You have to go to the dealership and have them reset it. My wife's has been on for 4 years on her sonata, doesn't hurt anything.

At what tire pressure is the tire pressure warning indicator activated

The LOW TIRE PRESSURE warning light will come on when the pressure is 25% below the manufacturer's recommended pressure. If I recall correctly, the 2007 Sonata has a manufacturer's recommended tire pressure of 30 psi. There is a tire label (sticker) on the inside driver's door jamb ('B' Pillar which tells you what the manufacturer's recommend tire inflation pressure should be. Once you have that value, you can calculate 25% of that & find the pressure at which the warning light should come on. NOTE: The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) does not continually nor constantly scan the sensors in the wheels for this information - once every 3 to 10 minutes.

Light on dashboard looks like an exclamation point

It's the TPMS - Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

One or more of your tires has low pressure. Once you fill the tires to optimum pressure range, the system light should reset itself after a few miles.

Good Luck.

Low tire 2007 Kia spectra

You can plug any tire as long as it's on the tread face, not in the sidewall. The repair person will know. It makes no difference whether you have TPMS.

What does it mean when the icon on the dashboard that looks like an upside down horseshoe with an exclamation point in the middle lights up?

that means that you need air in one of you tires. you have the TPMS or tire pressure monitor system when your tires are below the ideal pressure it will light the icon in the dash. the way to tell if you have this it to look at the tire stems the place where you put in the air if there silver you do have it. if there black you don't
there should also be a yellow light on the dash that comes on when you turn the key on or start the car that reads "TPMS"
hope that this helps
